"You know I hate that woman, Twilight!"

"Ugh."

Twilight leaned back in his office chair, face void of any happiness.

"Eden said I needed volunteer hours, not hours of absolute torture! I refuse to be partnered with her!" Mirage huffed, crossing her arms as she wore her little white doctors coat.

"Mirage, when you agreed to volunteer at the hospital you knew that there was a possibility this was going to happen. You're a spy, act like one," he said, using his arm to cover his eyes.

"Twilight."

"What?"

She marched over to where he sat, standing in front of him whilst putting each hand on the armrests, leaning forward so her face was mere centimeters from his.

"I absolutely refuse to be partnered with Nightfall."

Twilight moved his arm from his eyes to get a good look at the girl's face. Her nose was scrunched and her frown was cute, brows contorted in frustration. How could he not listen to such a face?

。。。

Pretty damn easily, actually.

With one swift movement he reached his arms under her legs and hoisted her up, bringing both her and himself over to one of the counters where he sat her down in front of him. He placed both hands on her thighs and brought his body towards hers. She was completely, and utterly, trapped.

"Go on. Fight me and win," Twilight spoke lowly.

"..." Mirage's face heated up as she stared the blonde man down, clicking her tongue in annoyance. "You know there's no way I'd beat you in a fight," she admitted begrudgingly.

"Then why bother disobeying orders if you're unable to do anything about it?" He sighed in response, shaking his head in disbelief. "I don't understand you, Mirage. You're the least serious spy in W.I.S.E.. You'll get yourself killed one day."

"Aw, you're not gonna let anything happen to me, will you?" Mirage brought her finger to his chin, using it to lift his face up as she gave him a smirk.

Twilight's expression remained blank, before slowly softening as he let out a small cough, as if he was embarrassed. "No, of course not. I made a vow to never let anything happen to you, and I will abide by it," he said.

"Well then, it's settled," she flashed him a smile before jumping off the counter. "Anyways, get away from me! I love Yor way more than I love you," she giggled.

"That's my wife."

"Oh wow, that's crazy, cause last I remembered me and her were the married couple, not you two," she teased.

"Joke all you want, as long as it doesn't effect the mission," Loid grumbled, jealousy coursing through his veins. Y/N was the only person in the entire world he felt safe enough to show a hint of emotions around, which meant she knew about how he was growing fond of his "fake" family.

"Ugh, you're so serious," she grumbled, taking a seat in his office chair and spinning herself around in it.

The sound of a door opening caught the attention of the spies, both their eyes darting to the door on instinct as they held their guard. What could it be? An invasion? A criminal? The Secret Police?

"Twilight, I've arrived per your request."

...or it could just be Nightfall.

Mirage let out a loud groan, not bothering to hide her distaste for the woman as she slumped in the chair. One of her strengths was being able to read people easily, even the smallest, tiniest bits of them, which is how she knew "Fiona Frost" was head over heels in love with Twilight.
