Chapter 8

The next couple of days Rakshitha and her team worked over various possibilities over the case. This led them to Tanav's lost Phone which was discovered 15 meters away from Adira's phone. The Cyber team took hours to unlock the phones. Once the phones were unlocked, the first phone they went through belonged to Adira. Which didn't give them any clues. They hoped that at least Tanav's phone would give them some hints, and it did, it was a complete game changer. All his conversations were recorded, they were all surprised to see that he had dug out his own grave. It had evidence about his affair and how he conned millions under the cover of a rich man's son and a smart, successful woman's husband. Out of all the recordings, there was one which completely blew their brains-a conversation between Tanav and Noel. This alone was sufficient to put Tanav behind the bars, but Laya wasn't satisfied with this. She got to know that Adira was having breakdowns because of Tanav. She was not ready to let him slip away with that, she wanted to humiliate him at the court. Rakshitha and Swetha were also involved in Laya's plan to trap Tanav at the court. Taking up the missing complaint of Adira to the court was their first step. They filed a case against Tanav and Noel on the basis of the call recording.

Tanav wasn't expecting Rakshitha's team to get their hands on his lost phone and especially on his call recording with Noel. Noel was also summoned, which shocked everyone. He wouldn't have been caught so easily. But it seemed like he left hints for them to find him. Which made Ishaan suspicious, but he chose to ignore that for the time being. When Noel was called into the witness box, Tanav got very anxious and was profusely sweating. Laya was all set to roast Tanav, and she started her questionnaire, "so Mr. Noel, did you kidnap the young businesswoman, Adira Srivastav?" she asked, "Yes. I was given 3 crores to kidnap her, and clear instructions to keep her safe. And I did what I was asked to do." he admitted, which shocked everyone even more. Laya was also surprised, and she asked Noel to step down from the box, she was happy to prove that her friend was alive and safe but was kind of upset to miss a chance to humiliate Tanav, her eyes shifted to Tanav who was as red. His eyes were fixed on Noel. Sira on the other hand was surprised to hear the number, she clearly remembered Noel telling her he was paid 10 crores for the job.

On the other hand, Adira's parents felt relieved to know that their daughter was safe and sound. Sira was mad at her lawyer, but she was in her senses and was aware it was not just the lawyer who only had a few points to fight the case, as Sira was too swallowed up in her pride she didn't tell him much and blamed everything on Noel.

Rakshitha got her permission to interrogate Tanav and Noel from the court. This permission surprised Swetha, " I thought the local police was going to take this, the special wing doesn't actually do the interrogation." She said, "Well, I used a few contacts, like the district magistrate." Laya said, "Isn't Harsh Suryavanshi your brother-in- law Laya." Rakshitha asked, while Laya answered her with a smile.

Rakshitha made sure Laya was taking rest keeping in mind her pregnancy and she already took enough risk.

Rakshitha and Ishaan started their interrogation from Noel. He was 6 '2, and very innocent by looks but dangerous at the work he does, he was waiting for Rakshitha at the interrogation room, patiently. Soon his wait ended as Rakshitha entered the room with Ishaan. Rakshitha interrogated him first, "So, then Noel, who gave you the deal?" she asked, "the deal was done through an anonymous call. Money was good so didn't ask for details." he replied in a carless tone. The questions advanced and Rakshitha asked about Adira's location, but Noel told that she was taken away before his men could reach her in the woods. While the investigation was going, Tanav suddenly barged into the room and held Noel's collar, "Where is my WIFE?!" he screamed. Noel lost his cool "ask your Brother MANAV!!!" Noel yelled back. Rakshitha was stunned and she looked at Ishaan, "well, I guess we got a new prime suspect. Manav Khanna it is." he said and went in between Tanav and Noel.
