The greenery of Kerala warmly hugged Adira. The complimentary boat rides, excellent food served in banana leaves, excellent culture the village traditions were something that made her heart flutter. she was given a houseboat stay by Manav, while he dealt with some meetings and documentation before meeting Mr. Pillai.
"Hey my angel. What's up how is Kerala?" Laya asked from the video call. Rakshitha groaned, "I'm just hating this fact. You left me.", Adira laughed at Rakshitha's words. "Guess what! I'm given a special premium houseboat for my stay, I try all their special sweets and foods, the early morning view and sunrise from the boat is so stunning. Envy me more." Adira chuckled. making Laya laugh and Rakshitha rolled her eyes.
Rakshitha mouthed, 'F*ck you angelic b***h' before leaving the group call in a huff. Laya continued to talk, "I met your mom at the Temple yesterday morning. I have a news flash; your dad approached a marriage broker and has a long list of prospective grooms. He is presently shortlisting few." Laya informed, making Adira's heart sink.
Marriage was not even on her list. She wanted to find her man, fall in love, know him well before starting a journey, she wanted a man of her choice, but a man of her dad's choice? a man like him? may be no, she was tiered of letting him have his control on her now another man taking it away from her dad was a nightmare to her.
"Marriage? Not yet Laya. I can't get married now, I finally got the confidence to spread my wings, fly and touch those parts of the sky I always wanted to. I can't put the reins in the hands of another man right now. NO" Adira said, panic rising in her voice, "Calm down. Nothing is going to go out of hand. If someone comes now, Rakshitha will take care, if not I'll talk to Uncle. You just have fun, Enjoy Kerala. OK?" Laya asked, taking in deep breathes, Adhira nodded.
The next day, there was a puja at Mr. Pillai's residence which Adira had to attend along with Maanav. She wore a dark green half-saree with plain and simple golden border. her long hair was open and had a small clutch pulling it back, while she had decked her hair with few jasmine flowers. She looked very beautiful without a single ounce of makeup. Manav was left stunned at her look and kept staring at her.
At the Puja they were the biggest attraction, Adira was very silent and had a smile when someone approached her, she kept tailing Maanav like a toddler following his mom. Manav realized Adira was uncomfortable with the attention she was getting, and they decide to leave early than planned, which made relief pass through her as her rigid body instantly loosened as they reached their car to leave after the Prashad, and signature of the deal documents.
"Breathe now. We are out of that place, by the way I ordered some food at the hotel, eat it, take a nap then we can pack and leave to the airport. don't worry I'll wake you up. We can ask the reception to make a call" Manav said. This made her feel very special.
