Chapter 29. Family

Ivy

We're here!

We're in Italy!

Dami walks down the stairs of the jet stretching, while I watch the view in amusement.

"Italy. My country, next to the Dominican Republic." He says yawning and my head snaps back to him. "You're from the DR?" He smirks. "Sí." He takes Margo's hand and they walk to I'm guessing the car that's taking us where we're staying.

Lorenzo walks behind me with our luggage. "You brought us to Italy for a date? And when did you pack our luggage." I ask him surprised and he smiles. "Yes, only the best for you. And I asked my maid to do it for you. If it's not good we can get you other outfits, but the clothes are from
your closet." He tells me unsure.

I try to take my luggage out of his hand, but he refuses. "Not going to happen." He tells me and I roll my eyes. "Please. I can carry my own weight." He kisses me on my cheek. "And I'm sure you can carry this too. But you won't." He leads me to the black SUV and opens the door for me.

Everyone get yourself a man who does this.

"Do you mind sitting with them for the trip to the house?" He asks me and I nod. "Where are you sitting?" I ask him and he opens his own door. "Next to the driver. I need to show him directions and finish some business deals."

The driver starts to drive, and me trying to ignore the two people in love next to me, I drift off.

"Iv, wake up baby we're here." I hear a voice calling out and I open my eyes. Being met with beautiful green eyes owned to Lorenzo. "Hi." I greet him and he smiles. "Hi. Let's go inside." He takes my hand getting me up.

We walk hand in hand into the house and we are met with gasps and shrieking. I jump in fright and Lorenzo starts to laugh at the people in front of us. "You guys scared her. What did I tell you about the reactions." He tells them and they start apologizing to me. I shake them off telling them it's alright.

"Ivy! You're here!" Lorenzo's mother, Athena, says walking towards me. My eyes widen. "Hi Athena! Long time no see!" She embraces me in a hug and I smile. Luca, Lorenzo's dad, comes to greet me too in a hug and that's when everyone follows him greeting me. They all hug me proving they're a very huggable family.

A little girl runs up to Lorenzo jumping so he catches her. My heart melts at the sight of them laughing with one another. Lorenzo walks towards me with the girl and she grows shy, trying to hide behind the big man.

"Ivy, I'd like to introduce you to a very special little one. This is Venus." Lorenzo introduces me to the beautiful little girl, who's name is Venus. She smiles politely. "Hi, I'm Venus." She says shyly and I smile. "Like the Greek Goddess of beauty." I tell her and her smiles widen. "Yes! You know Venus?" She asks me.

"I know all about her, I would love to get to know you though." I tell her truthfully. "I'm happy you've met my zio (uncle) Lorenzo." She tells me and my heart grows even fonder of this girl. "Thank you for your approval Venus. It means the absolute world to me." Venus nods and gets put down on the floor by her zio Lorenzo. She runs off to Athena and I smile at the family.

"You have such a big, welcoming family!" I tell Lorenzo truthfully and he scratches his head. "Yeah.. I love them but they can be too much from time to time. I'm sorry they startled you." He apologizes and I hug him. "It's alright. I love them."

He kisses my forehead, following both of my cheeks and lips. "You're such an affectionate man." I giggle and he pecks my lips again. "For you only."

"come osi non dirmelo hai gli occhi puntati su una donna! (how dare you not tell me you have your eye on a woman!)" Athena says continuing to hit Dami on his head. I laugh at him and Dami gives me a sharp look. "Ow mamma smettila (mom stop it), You're embarrassing me!" Dami says, trying to get Athena to stop.

Luca stops his wife and also he gets a sharp look from Athena. "Athena my love, let the boy go and let him introduce his girlfriend." Luca tells Athena and Athena huffs stopping her hits on Dami. "Thank you, LG." Dami thanks Luca and Luca nods. Athena gives Dami a sharp look, again, and Dami starts walking towards Margo.

Margo is red, looking shy as Dami brings her forward to the family. "Everyone, this is Margo, Margo, this is everyone." Dami introduces her and Margo waves. "Hi nice to meet everyone."Athena walks up to her and holds her hand. "Margo as in the girl from the boys high school that moved away? Margo as in Dami couldn't stop crying when you moved away?" Athena says and Dami his eyes grow wide.

"That's enough of that ma, thanks." Dami says trying to stop Athena's rampage. Athena nods towards Margo. "Welcome to the family girl."

I turn back to Lorenzo getting reminded by something way more important than me. "Enzo, where is Shark?! Who's taking care of him?!" I say panicking and he calms me. "He's here soon. He and drew are arriving with my brother, Venus dad." He tells me and my ears perk up.

"You have a brother?!" I ask him and he nods casually. "Yes."

"And you didn't think that was worth mentioning?!" I ask him and he shakes his head. "No."

I raise an eyebrow. "How are you saying all this so casually?" He shrugs. "He's just not that important. But he's trustable enough to arrive with Drew and Shark. They're in good hands." He says leaving for his family and I walk up to Dami.

"Phew thanks for saving me. Athena almost literally killed me with her words." He says wiping his fake sweat off of his forehead. I roll my eyes. "Say, Lorenzo has a brother?" I ask Dami and he nods. "Yes. Did he mention him willingly?" He asks me and I shrug. "I don't know. I asked where Shark and Drew were and he said they were arriving with his brother."

Dami nods thinking. "Ok make sense. Why are you so worried then?" I smile. "I'm not worried." He raises an eyebrow. "Yeah and I'm rich." I raise my eyebrow too. "But you are rich." He shrugs. "Oh wrong example. But I know you're worried what's wrong?" He asks me and I shrug. "I don't know. He didn't think his brother was ever worth mentioning. We weren't done talking and he just walked off. Acting strange." I tell Dami and he nods.

"Lorenzo and his brother bond is a hard topic for him. They never had a great relationship. He'll tell you some time ok?" Dami reassured me and I nod.

Just a hard topic.

I join the family and we talk the night off. They're asking me questions on how me and Lorenzo met, questions about me. And other things. Lorenzo warns them not to go too far and I brush him off telling him it's fine.
