Toshinori is a very stubborn man. You figured that out long ago, but especially now when the retired hero simply doesn't leave your side, do you feel his stubborn nature shining through. He outright refused to leave you alone ever since you exited your room when going downstairs for breakfast, always sticking by your side and asking you about Kirishima's development.
That's why you don't mind him, actually. You like talking about your student. Praising the red head behind his back is so much easier than doing it in front of him and especially to him. The occasional head pet or encouraging word would still make it past your cold heart every now and then, but usually, you try not to be too expressive about your feelings. You have quite literally never felt more proud than about Kirishima. He's your pride and joy. Your red headed sunshine. Your light in the dark.
That's why you don't mind it when All Might asked about him, immediately rambling on about his recent development and training.
You started at the beginning, explaining to the blonde why you took interest in him at first. He stood out with his perception of cursed energy, even when most of his abilities were sealed away by his father. He caught up with your training quickly and adapted at the same pace that you like to work at. The boy wasn't even aware of curses, cursed energy, or even sorcerers, and yet he stood out amongst his classmates when it came to the supernatural. It came to no surprise that he was born from a shaman.
And even when so many things unveiled before his eyes, secrets unravelling and seals lifting, he stayed calm and collected. Grounded in his own way. He accepted his father's way of being a Jujutsu sorcerer and accepted your proposal to learn under you even though he knew basically nothing about you.
The first few weeks were nerve-racking to you as you tried to get accustomed to the boys' presence. It was different, training with someone by your side, teaching someone how to walk like you, feel like you. It took time to find a rhythm that worked for you both. And even then, Kirishima is strong willed and incredibly sturdy, which made his training advance faster than what you had originally planned. Even you were surprised by his quick growth. Though his academics were suffering slightly from your intrusion on his life.
You expressed your frustration about not being able to help Kirishima study to All Might, who tried to comfort you with some of his wise-old-man words. But his attempt was futile. There's no need to sugarcoat it. You're illiterate, can't even go past multiplication, and you have no idea what Pi is. You have never spoken a single world of english without being absolutely clueless what it means, and you quite frankly don't care about history. You wished to be able to help him but quickly came back to reality and gave up on that wish. Even Kirishima, who struggles greatly during class, would be able to teach a kindergartener more than you.
The only way you could help him in regards to his academics was to give him time off. No sparring on weekends. That's the perfect time to hit the books, whether those are Jujutsu related or not.
Where he lacks in normal school, he excels in Jujutsu. Even with his little studying, he was able to understand the base premise of shamans and their work. How curses work and how they are born, cursed techniques, and different clans. Families, abilities, grades, wars, history of Jujutsu. Everything he needed to know, he knows. Of course, you would go more in-depth with him if he was an actual student who studies Jujutsu, like the kids at Tokyo Metropolitan. But Kirishima is a hero course student, so he doesn't need to know more than he already does. To him, knowing how the Gojo clan evolved into what it is today is totally useless. Same with how every family and clan was created or where they stem from, as well how their techniques developed over the centuries and millennia. All that knowledge is just a waste of space when his head should be filled with heroism. So you don't when bother to teach him those specifics that are being taught at Tokyo Metropolitan.
