Latil had left the wedding fuming. She had left to go to her room. You and your brother both were holding plates filled with food. Sir Sonnaught had donuts on his while you had cakes on yours. It was for Latil since she hadn't eaten anything from the wedding. The two of you walked side by side to her room.

The two of you were walking in silence until Sir Sonnaught broke it. "About our conversation earlier... I wonder what type of men my dear sister fancies." He teased.

You blushed embarrassed at the topic being brought up again which almost made you drop your plate of cakes. "Why won't you drop it..." You didn't make eye contact with him.

"Awww... I'm just curious about my little sister's taste in men."

"You know damn well I haven't really interacted with that many men in my life so.....I wouldn't know really." You lightly bumped into him. "I guess I'll know when it happens."

"When you do know you better tell me so that I can beat him to a pulp if he breaks your heart." He chuckles.

"Please don't" You sweatdropped. "But thanks.... I'll let you know when it does happen." You smiled softly.

You saw Latil angrily sitting on her bed. Sir Sonnaught was leaning on the open door with a donut in his hand indicating he had brought donuts. You on the other hand had your head peeking into the room raising the plate of cakes you brought.

You brought the plates to Latil and she ate them all in record time.

"Wow..." The two siblings mumbled. Great minds think alike, they said.

You took the empty plate away from your brother and brought it to the table while he was standing beside Latil giving her a handkerchief. "Are you alright, princess?"

Latil took the handkerchief from Sir Sonnaught. "I'm not okay, Sir Sonnaught. I've had it up to here." She indicated with her hand. "Are we ready to leave for Tarium?"

"I believe so, your highness. We have completed everything that was on our agenda." He answered. "Should I get everyone ready to leave?"

"Is it really fine to leave right after the wedding? Isn't that rude or something..?" You asked while handing Latil a glass of water.

"Let's leave tomorrow..."

"We could leave now, your highness. Some delegations even left right after the ceremony."

"That's because those delegations were from kingdoms that aren't on good terms with Karisen." She sighed. "If we leave today, people will assume that we are also on bad terms with Karisen. We cannot give them fuel for gossip. I will not bring my personal matters into this."

The two of you smiled at her. "That's our princess. Always very reliable." You smiled.

"Plus, it will feel like I'm running away if I leave now." Latil flopped onto the bed. "Let's leave ...tomorrow morning... after I finish things properly with Hyacinth."

You were standing beside your brother. You were accompanying Latil to say her goodbyes to Hyacinth. You were fidgeting with your fingers as you felt quite uncomfortable to be in this situation. Your eyes darted around the room hoping it would end soon.

"Do you really have to do this, Latil?" Hyacinth asked for the last time.

"She seems to regret this already." Your brother said barely a whisper and you nodded at it.

"Yes," Latil answered. "I must."

"Please, it's only five years." He begged. "We could be together again, Latil!"

"No, Hyacinth." Latil turned away from him.

"Your royalty as well. You must understand the position I am in. I had no choice." Sheesh pathetic much?

"Like I said, I understand. But being with you is a completely different issue now."

"Latil....please."

"Five years... Did you ever think about what I would have to suffer through in those five years? We both know that this wedding was only the beginning. You'll have to take more concubines and consorts than you can count. That's the fastest way to secure the throne, isn't it?!"

Hyacinth flinched at her words as they were the truth. At that moment your fidgeting became even worse as you really couldn't stand the atmosphere. You were regretting your decision to not go wait outside earlier. It's as if Sir Sonnaught had noticed your change in demeanour, he gently intertwined your hand and gave it a light squeeze.

He was still staring ahead when you glanced at him but his face had a small smile. You were grateful that you had a brother like him as you squeezed his hand back.

"How many more of your relationships must I bear witness to in those five years? How could you ask me to suffer through that?!" She was right, you know? Hyacinth could only stare in silence at Latil's words.

"Step into my shoes for a moment, Hyacinth. If I married someone else, then had to take one consort after another...and I asked you to suffer through all that to wait for me... would you?" Latil asked him.

"I--" He seemed startled by that question.

"No, wait." Latil raised a hand to stop him. "Don't answer that yet. You just wait. One day I'll ask you that question again. You can answer me then." Latil looked very menacing at that moment. It made you wonder what she had in mind when she said that.

With that the delegation left Karisen and headed back to Tarium. This time around you still rode with your brother despite your many protests. You could hear the praises of the townsfolk about the new empress that Hyacinth just married. It made you stare at Latil, who was riding in front of you in worry.

"Do you think he's fine?" You ask your brother. "Wait don't answer that. Stupid question. Of course not." You drooped.

"She's not fine but she'll be one day. Our princess is strong like that." He answered, staring at Latil's back.

"Hmm... Well I just hope she doesn't get too hung up on him. He's no good for her." You sighed. You really hope that she'll get over Hyacinth someday soon. And with that your group rode back to Tarium in silence.
