Chapter 9: Woeful Memories

(Wednesday P.O.V)

Peyton and I were quietly making our way through the Crown Jewel exhibit, every time we saw Yeomen, Peyton would salute them as sign of respect, and I would nod at them, basically saying hello without talking. Peyton even taught me about England history as we made our way through the exhibit, he was smart and clearly loved his heritage, which I found admirable. We eventually heard a familiar noise, we saw Xavier painting locks and locking the doors, Blake took out the camera's with her storm cloud form, and they reconvened and even kissed each-other good luck. "Stay here, I got this" Peyton said as he camouflaged into the environment around him, I smirked as he did that, he may not like this thought, but he's a trickster, but a funny one. Just as Blake went to grab the gem, something hit her out of her form, I knew it was Peyton, "Who's there?" she asked, "Someone from the same blood" Peyton said as he stayed invisible. "Peyton? What are you doing here?" Xavier asked, "To set you free from sis's clutches, she's using you" Peyton said trying to get through to the young Thorpe, Blake only scoffed as her dark eyes flashed red, "C'mon bro, you can't beat me, I have friends and your all alone." she said, "He isn't alone" I said as I grabbed a nearby cutlass and held it towards Blake's throat. "Oh, if it isn't the good witch of the dark" Blake said cocking her eyebrow, Xavier stood in front of Blake protecting her, "What are you doing here?" he asked, "I clearly have been on the trail of an evil shapeshifter since she threatened me and my friend in the catacombs" I said keeping a straight face, but I was seething with rage. "Whatever, you need no part in this" Blake said, "That's what you think, but you are wrong" I said swinging the cutlass, but Xavier blocked it with his own. "BLAKE GET OUTTA HERE!" he yelled.

Blake turned into a storm cloud and went to leave, but Peyton grabbed her and turned into his father, 'Listen to me Blake, you're corrupted" he said, "FUCK OFF YOU NONSE!!!" Blake yelled as she threw her brother off her. Peyton landed with a thud, and Blake decided to take the time to go back for the gem, "XAVIER! CATCH!" Blake said just as the alarm went off. Xavier caught the gem and Blake escaped with Peyton in tow, clearly meant as a diversion, shapeshifters are sensitive listeners, but Peyton didn't hear his sister yelling. I pushed Xavier off and he looked at himself, "You're worse than your dad" I said as I followed the siblings out of the exhibit. I took a different exit to see Tyler and the others, "Blake and Xavier have the gem, but Peyton's on her trail, Xavier's still in there" I said. "Uuh, we can see that!" Ajax said as everyone looked up, we saw the storm cloud fighting Peyton who was turning into different members of their family to try and break her free. "A LITTLE HELP!!" Peyton yelled. Tyler knew what to do and ran, the rest of us saw Xavier escaping, "WAIT!" Enid yelled as I ran to seize Xavier, Xavier sent out illusion after illusion out at us, A swarm of wasps and eventual pilgrims. 

The Yeomen saw what was going on and tried to catch Xavier, but he was too quick. Suddenly his father showed up, "Thank you" he said as he took the gem from Xavier. But soon a familiar roar was heard, I smiled knowing who it was. Tyler showed up and managed to grab Xavier, just as Blake managed to transform back, "You have it?" she asked, "Yes, right here" Vincent said, Tyler roared to get their attention, I stepped up. "Give us the gem, or your son gets it" I said as Tyler slashed Xavier's chest, it wasn't severe, but it did make a wound that will leave a scar. "DAD! BLAKE! HELP ME!!" Xavier yelled in pain, Vince and Blake only looked at each-other, and then smirked in our direction. Xavier's face changed to a look of pure horror, "You think I care? You gotta do what you gotta do to achieve your goals" Blake said as she cocked her eyebrow again, "Sorry son, nothing personal" Vince said as Blake turned into a storm cloud and flew them both back to Jericho. Tyler roared in rage, we turned to see that Peyton drew another portal, "C'MON!!" he yelled, we all jumped in before the Yeomen could catch us. We ended up in the Catacombs of Nevermore, exactly where Tyler's room is. 

"Let him go" I said and Tyler let Xavier go. Tyler transformed back and quickly put on some jeans and a shirt, it was plaid and it clearly complimented Tyler, "That's never fun" he said as he took ragged breaths, "No kidding, I can only imagine" Peyton said, Thing signed that he couldn't imagine either, but that it was fun to see it in the flesh. "Yeah, it's pretty wild to do it, it feel like getting shocked right in your stomach, and then an adrenaline rush follows" Tyler said explaining how he felt. I tied Xavier up, and Bianca locked the door so the staff wouldn't interfere, Xavier begun to cry as I tied his hands behind his back and around the chair. "How could they do that to me, I trusted them" he said, "That's it Xavier, you're too naive" Bianca said honestly, "Enough, I will ask the questions" I said, Xavier grimaced as Tyler started to smugly smile. "Why did you trust her?" I asked, "She said she spoke the truth, that she was able to see the truth with her mind, like her mom" Xavier said, "Bullshit, she's no more magical than Donovan Galpin" Peyton said out loud, I nodded at him saying that he can help, since his sister manipulated our guest, "What did she say to you?" I asked Xavier, "She said that she can find a way for all my dreams to come true, and with hers as-well, I did this for you Wen" Xavier said, "You don't get to call me that, only a select few" I said sternly, Tyler smirked knowing what I meant. Peyton walked up to Xavier, "Did she give anything to you?" Peyton asked, "She only gave me this" Xavier said as he pulled out a tiny black mirror, "She said it can help me see the truth" he said, Peyton picked it up, "She lied, it allowed you to see what she wanted you to see, she manipulated you from the start" Peyton said as he put the mirror down.
