Chapter 20: King Lucas

I hated leaving Ametrine behind, but I had to keep her safe! Peter was letting his rage lead him on and he had to learn to control it before we got there.

Peter, you need to calm down or else he is going to use your anger against you! Peter looks me in the eyes and takes a deep breath trying to control his anger. James has learned to do this over time, but I can still see the fury in his eyes.

Good job Peter! That took me weeks to learn! James congratulated him! Peter just nods at him trying to keep his anger and worry at bay. We urge our horses onward faster as we try to get to the old training camp William has taken Rosella and Hazel to. Within a few hours we arrive at the camp, and we slow our horses and tie them up at the entrance of the canyon.

Everyone keep your eyes peeled and ears sharp. I quietly tell everyone as we quietly enter the camp. We keep our footsteps precise and quiet as we continue forward. The camp is in the middle of a canyon and echoes easily, so we listen for any movement. Suddenly we hear movement to our left and I signal to surround the sound. The sound leads us to an old storage shed and we count down from three before opening the door. James enters the shed and looks around.

Prince James! You came! Hazel quietly says as she wraps her arms around him in a hug.

Hazel, youre alright! Peter rushes to his sisters side and picks her up into his arms in a warm embrace. I keep my eyes peeled for William to make sure hes not using Hazel as bait.

Where is Rosella? Peter asks Hazel.

I dont know the big scary man took her away. They tried to take me too, but I kicked them between the legs and ran. Okay so Hazel isnt being used as bait that just means we have to look for Rosella!

Lets keep looking! Hazel, I need you to stay close to your brother and stay quiet okay. I tell her quietly and calmly. She nods her head, and we continue into the camp. As we get deeper into the camp, we hear a struggle coming from the training arena. We quietly walk up to it and listen in.

You wont get away with this William! My family will come for me! Rosella yells at him tied at his feet.

Oh, shut up! You shouldnt have gone against your father, and you wouldnt be in this mess in the first place princess! William yells at her as he smacks her across the face! I give the signal to attack right then! Jasper teleports in and grabs Rosella and teleports back to Peter and Hazel! James tries to get a reading on his greatest fear as King Topaz reads his mind to figure out his next move.

It's over William! Youve lost! Surrender and maybe we will show you some mercy! I shout standing tall. William starts laughing.

You think youve won? This is just part one of King Orions plans! You have not seen his true anger yet! The kingdoms will fall! William whistles and jumps on a horse that comes to him and speeds off. Peter has already untied Rosella and they are holding onto each other and Hazel.

Lets go home everyone! We need to prepare for anything they through at us! We walk back to the horses and ride back home. Peter and Rosella ride the same horse and Hazel falls asleep in James arms on his horse. I ride up next to Peter and Rosella.

Rosella, why dont you get some sleep. Its a long trip. Rosella nods her head and leans back against Peter and closes her eyes. Peter pulled her closer to him and held her tightly as he steered his horse forward. We continue forward through the desert and into the forest surrounding my kingdom. Rain starts to fall as we enter a clearing.

King Lucas, I just wanted to thank you for saving my kids friend and showing such leadership and loyalty to your people. It shows me that my daughter is in good hands! King Topaz thanks me and bows his head in respect.
