Chapter 22: Princess Ametrine

Its the day of Rosellas wedding and I cant find Roseanne anywhere. Her and Jasper went off the grid after the meeting. Well during it is a better way of putting it. Leora seems worried but wont talk about it.

You know pacing wont make our siblings show up faster. Ella states from her vanity, looking at me with the same worried eyes I carry.

I know but I cant help it. Anne and Jasper are missing, and all Leora has to say about it is they will be here in time for the wedding which is in three hours! Where did they even go that takes two days to travel to. They know traveling without protection is dangerous!

Ametrine, breath! My sister and your brother will return! I can feel it! And I trust your sister and if she says not to worry then Im going to prepare for my wedding and pray that my sister makes it in time! I take in her words and take in a deep breath stopping my pacing and sitting on one of the lounge chairs. Suddenly a guard rushes in the room with wide eyes.

Your highnesses. Princess Roseanne and Prince Jasper have returned! Ella and I jump out of our seats and follow the guard out of the room and down the stairs towards the main hall and to the front doors. Standing there is Jasper with cuts and bruises all along his arms and a cut across his left eye. Roseanne is sitting on the floor in almost the same condition, but she has a cut on her right cheek instead of her eye. Laying in Roseannes arms is her mother, Queen Luna. Her white hair was dull and matted, her eyes were closed as she took deep long breaths and her skin looked sickly white.

Mother? Are you alright? At Rosellas words Queen Lunas eyes opened slowly and landed on her daughter and a small soft smile played on her lips.

Roseanne, Jasper are you two crazy? Do you know how dangerous it was to do this? Roseanne just smiled victoriously at me, and Jasper shrugged his shoulders.

She would have gone with or without me. At least with me we got out of there alive! I shook my head and ran up and hugged them both gently. King Lucas called the doctor so that way they could get checked out before the wedding and ordered some food and juice for Queen Luna to get her strength up. She looks as if she hasnt eaten in weeks. Roseanne helps feed her mother while I get Rosella back up to her room to finish getting ready for her wedding.

Do you think she will be alright? Ella asks me worried.

Im sure with some food and rest she will regain her strength. Everyone could see how much having your mother here for your big day meant to you. Roseanne and Jasper were just the only ones with the guts to actually make it come true. Rosella started laughing dryly as she applied some powder to her cheeks.

My father wouldnt have thought twice about killing either of them or holding them hostage and forcing them to marry. There are so many horrible things he could have done, but Im just glad they made it back. I see now why Leora didnt say where they went and why she was so worried. I nodded my head in agreement as Leora entered the room.

Hi girls. I just wanted to apologize about not telling you were Roseanne and Jasper went. Leora said with her head down. With a smile on our faces Rosella and I looked at each other then got up and hugged Leora.

We understand Leora. I wouldnt have had the strength to have done the same, but I understand why you did.

Thank you for supporting my sister and having a part in bringing my mom here. Rosella says with tears in her eyes.

Hey now no tears! Youll mess up your make-up before you even finish putting it on! Leora said hugging us back. We stay that way just hugging each other for a few moments before Leora breaks the hug and clears her throat.

Okay now lets get you ready to walk down the aisle! We all start laughing as Rosella heads back to her vanity and I make my way back to the lounge chair to relax. Leora steps up beside Rosella and picks up a make-up brush.
