Chapter 13: Princess Ametrine

When I woke up it was still dark out, but it was due to Lucas arms tightening around me.

Careful! There are people asleep back here! Lucas snaps at the driver.

Why did we stop? I ask.

We are here little princess. We are at my home. He says to me softly. As we got out of the coach, I see the others are waking up and stretching their legs as well.

Welcome home, your majesty! I see you have brought guests.

Yes Carl. Please set up the guest rooms, but first let me introduce you. Everyone this is my steward, Carl. If you have any questions or needs, just ask him. Also, set up one of the meeting rooms for Princess Amethyst and Princess Rosella. They will be using it during their stay here.

No problem, your majesty. Oh, and before I forget Lady Iris has been waiting for your return.

Lady Iris? I ask now worried.

Yes. I took her in when she was young. Her parents died in an unfortunate house fire and she had no other family. She is actually around your age.

Lucas your home!!! A fair skinned, golden blond, hazel eyed girl came running out of the castle and jumped on Lucas.

Thank you. I start laughing she is so adorable. But then she catches a glance at someone behind me and goes dead quiet next thing I know Jasper comes up behind me and is staring at Iris like no one else is around.

Nice to meet you. My brother bows and kisses Iris hand. A blush rushes her cheeks and I look at Lucas just to see a smirk on his face.

Iris meet my brother Prince Jasper. Jasper this is Iris she lives here in the castle with King Lucas.

Yes Lucas has been like a big brother to me since I was eight years old. I couldnt have asked for a better person to have taken care of me. I see a tinge of jealousy in my brothers eyes, but he masks it well.

Carl, can you escort everyone to their respectful rooms please? Lucas interrupts.

Of course, your majesty. Everyone follow me please. Everyone starts to follow Carl, but Lucas holds me back.

Would you like to sleep with me or in your own room, little princess? Lucas asks me with hope in his eyes. Id like to sleep with him, but would my family get mad if I did that?

Wouldnt my family get mad if we shared a room?

I dont think so. Aside from your brother. He said chuckling. I think for a second. Jasper does seem distracted by Iris.

Okay I sleep in your room. His eyes light up and I start to giggle as he picks me up and spins me in a hug.

Ill show you the way. Lucas sets me down and grabs my hand guiding me into the castle. Unlike home, Lucas castle is more Victorian with candles everywhere. The staircases are lined with red carpets and black curtains are pulled back from the windows. We head straight for the west wing and go to the farthest room.

This is our room, little princess. We walk into a room three times bigger than my own room back home. The bed alone can fit two of my own. There is a desk and computer in the far right hand corner near the entrance to a balcony.
