Y/n awoke to the knocking on her door, her eyes puffy from crying herself to sleep and her body stiff from sleeping in an awkward position. She winced at the brightness of the sun that peered through her window before groggily standing up to answer the door.
"Good morning Y/n- Huh? Why are your eyes swollen?!" Paimon exclaimed.
"Morning Paimon, Aether~ *Yawn* What time is it?" She asked with a small stretch. Aether voiced out their worry since she was late again so they thought that she might be sick again.
Y/n reassured them that she had only slept in. When they asked why she cried, all she said was that she had read a tear-jerking novel the night prior.
Although they don't fully believe her, Aether chose not to look into it further. Y/n apologized and told them that she won't be coming along today for their daily commissions as she had to meet someone today.
"I'm going to Ghandarva Ville to meet up with a researcher named Haypasia." Y/n said.
"Huh, you know each other?" Paimon asked as Y/n retold her encounter with the mint-haired researcher at the great library of the Akademiya.
"I see, do you need someone to accompany you? The commission we're supposed to finish is near Ghandarva Ville after all." Aether asked. Y/n agreed to be escorted and she let them in her house as she went to fix herself up and freshen up.
The cold water against her face felt refreshing especially to her swollen eyes. Grabbing a brand new set of clothes she changed and ties her hair quickly.
"Sorry for making you wait, shall we go?" Y/n asked as she got out of her room. Aether and Paimon nodded and the three of them headed out.
Y/n's stomach grumbled as she had yet to have breakfast. She decided to buy Shawarma wraps for her and the two as her treat, earning Paimon's favor.
As they walked and talked together on their stroll, Y/n took in the great views of Sumeru.
Mmm grass, green green grass. One that I never touched in my world.
Their small journey was quiet but comfortable. Arriving near Gahndarva Ville, Aether and Paimon separated from Yn who headed straight to the forest ranger's cabin.
"Greetung, how can I assist?" A forest ranger with fox ears greeted Y/n.
OH MY GOD ITS TIGHNARI!! His ears are so fluffy, I wanna touch them but he might think I'm weird or a pervert.
"Uhm yes, do you know where Haypasia is?" Y/n asked despite already knowing. She asked to avoid suspicion.
Tighnari asked meticulously about her intentions before telling her to head to a nearby cave near the statue of seven.
Knowing where the researcher is, she headed to the said cave and called out her name. No one answered so she let herself in and what she saw was a poor sight of the scholar, laying down barely conscious on the ground.
