"I see, so you're a new scribe. You look too young to be one, what's you're name young'un?" Faruzan asked as Y/n introduced herself.
"I'm Faruzan. Call me Madam Faruzan. Contrary to my appearance I'm actually over a hundred years of age. Got it?" Faruzan states which Y/n nodded to.
"So that's why to talk so wisely, Madam Faruzan." Y/n commented which gave her a good impression of Faruzan.
Y/n saw the friendship level turn from 0 to 1.5%
"Oh, you young ones these you know how to flatter your seniors. Since you've left a great impression on me, I will offer you help whenever you encounter any hardships. Just find me any time." Faruzan declared which made Y/n internally cheer for victory.
"Actually...if you don't mind, madam Faruzan, are you able to take me as your student?" Y/n asked shyly.
Faruzan ask why would she wish to be a student when she was already a scribe. Y/n acted sad, saying that although she could translate texts, she wasn't able to understand most of it.
"I was born with a pair of unusual eyes that can translate anything for me but what's the use if I don't know what I've been reading? Now that I have become a scribe, I feel like a tool that simply translates and transcribes texts. *sigh* if only my eyes were given to those who deserve it more." Y/n said, gaining empathy from the hundred-year-old researcher.
Faruzan then asked how she was able to get her unique pair of eyes and Y/n made up a story with half-truth.
Y/n began to recall time 500 years ago and stated her connection with Estella. She said that when she was born, Y/n was blind and her mother prayed to the stars to give her sight so she could see how beautiful the stars at night were. She then said that the stars gave her sight but in exchange, she was put to sleep. She still grew but stopped again at the age of 20 and slept for 500 years.
Faruzan gasped in shock as she heard that the person in front of her was about 500 years old.
"Don't worry madam Faruzan, I slept through those years and my mind is basically still close to a child's. I just woke up recently and I just started getting used to everything." Y/n reassured which made Faruzan sigh in relief.
She smiled and pats Y/n's head feeling pity for having to be alone like her who outlived her friends and family.
"I've decided! From now on I will be your teacher. You don't have to worry about anything anymore. I will take care of you in place of your mother." Faruzan declared.
Y/n thanked her genuinely and silently apologized to her for lying before the latter left for her own research.
"*phew* I lied to survive, sorry madam Faruzan, I'll be sure to spoil you too." Y/n muttered
"Mi?"
"Oh, is it time already? Thanks for always reminding me Mimo" y/n says as she got up and stretched after a day's work.
