CHAPTER THIRTY:              FIRE PROOF

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. – Lao Tzu"

Recently he's being too personal at work. Rejecting our new proposal and returning final outputs for revision though there's nothing to revise, getting snappy every time I am around and the last thing I thought he'll do is to party again with his ambitious secretary and her friends.

I am feeling so aggravated, I distance myself as well to better not ignite the 'fire' he said I created.

Walking aimlessly towards the bus stop, Nina registers again to my mind, 'How is she?'

I stand alone under the shed while waiting for the bus when suddenly a man in a thick coat showed up beside me, I automatically feel alert because he might have bad intentions but when I step away he spoke,

"Vanna. Thank God I found you." I am immobilised; I totally recognize his voice,

"U-Uncle Alfon..." Without a word he hold my hand and pull me to sit by the bench far from the shed,

"I'm sorry for my sudden appearance but I really need your help." I frown at his urgent admission, before he speak he look around first,

"Nina's life is in danger. Just yesterday the apartment she's staying got ransacked, she's so terrified though she wasn't home yet when it happened the burglars left a message threatening her." My frown deepens even more, but why?

"Nina is manned for months now, though she tried living normal, everyday she has this fear inside her." Is it Harold he's talking about?

"Aren't you living with her?" I drop it there, his face look grim under the street lights, he just shake his head,

"As in seriously? But you have a child with her."

"That child is not mine, look Vanna I don't know where you got this information but it is best if you ask them directly from Nina." I suddenly feel ashamed of myself, to accuse someone with only limited knowledge, I apologize immediately,

"I hope you can help us,"

"What sort of help do you need?"

"She has to be relocated. Somewhere they'll least suspect." Who are these they that he is evading?

"My house is spacious enough. I can take her." That's the least I can do for now, after all I really feel that I am totally involve in this 'situation' that Nina has. Uncle Alfon immediately left, after I get up in the bus, he's dressed not casually making him look suspicious, I just hope he gets home safe.
