Amara's POV:
I'm a blushing mess after finding out what Cole's dare is, and I can tell he's not doing much better than I am. Ella is holding back her giggles but nudges me to get up.
I look at Cole first, trying to see if he's okay with this. I can tell he's trying to gauge the same about me, and I give him an assuring nod.
Here goes nothing.
I stand up in front of him as he sits up straight, giving me more room on his lap. I slowly sit down and try to hold in my surprise when I sit down and feel something poking me.
Oh my God— is he hard right now??
I feel myself blushing even more and I try to move so that I'm not directly lined up with his.. problem, but I'm struggling to get comfortable. Every time I move, I notice his hands gripping onto the couch tighter. Eventually, his hands grab onto my hips, holding me in place.
"Stop... moving..." he pants quietly so that only I can hear him.
He rests his forehead on my upper back, and I can hear how heavy his breathing is. His hands don't release my hips, and I can't help but notice the amount of eyes on us at the moment.
This is so awkward.
We continue playing the game, and I try to pretend that everything is normal. I don't want to chicken out of this since then I'll really be the loser girl. I try my best to focus on the game, and not on where I'm sitting.
After a while, I notice that Oliver is glaring at Cole, and he looks up at me with a hurt expression every few seconds. I'm partially confused. I know this is probably awkward for him, but why does he look hurt? We're just hanging out as friends.
Oliver abruptly stands up, collecting his things, "I'm gonna.. uhm.. I'm gonna head out," Oliver explains, avoiding eye contact with all of us, "Nice meeting you all..."
He walks out of the room before I can get a word out, and I try to get up to follow him, but Cole's hands are not moving.
I hear Cole chuckling quietly behind me, and I can tell he's glad that Oliver is leaving. Just to spite him for laughing, I rock my hips once more on his lap, earning a low groan from him.
When he's distracted, his grip on my hips weakens. I use the opportunity to stand up from his lap, causing him to hiss from the sudden lack of contact, and I try to follow after Oliver.
I just reach the front door when I hear him speeding off in his truck. I feel so bad. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. I just wanted to be friends; I didn't want it to end up like this.
Luke and Ella soon join me at the door, and I notice they have their bags with them.
"Damn, that was way more intense than I thought," Luke manages while laughing, and Ella elbows him in the side to tell him to shut up.
"Well, hopefully he's okay," Ella says sympathetically, "We're going to head out, too. Just text or call me if you need anything."
I stand there at a loss for words, so all I can do is nod my head.
What the hell just happened?
When Oliver and I came over, everything was fine. Then, I end up wearing Cole's hoodie, sitting on his lap, and then chasing after an upset Oliver. Why was Oliver so upset, and why was Cole enjoying every second of it?
Everything happened so fast.
I hear Luke and Ella taking off in their car, too, and only now do I realize that I no longer have a ride home, considering Oliver is definitely not coming back.
