Amara's POV:

"Hello, princess ," Cole drawls through the window with a mischievous grin.

I roll my eyes playfully, but I can't stop the smile from finding its way onto my lips.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, biting my lip to try and hide my grin.

"Oh, you know," Cole hums with a smirk, "giving you the best ride of your life." He winks at me before chuckling deeply.

My cheeks turn red, catching his insinuation, before I hop into the passenger side and lightly slap his arm. He's unaffected by my hit, but his laughter simmers down until he's just smiling and shaking his head.

I watch his eyes as they trail down my body and then back up again, stopping at my lips.

"Have I ever told you that you have a staring problem?" I ask sarcastically, crossing my arms across my chest.

"And have I ever told you that you have the most beautiful smile?" He says, and I start to laugh, thinking he's joking.

He then leans over towards me slowly and rests his hand on the side of my face, ceasing my laughter and making my skin burn up where his hand is.

"How do you not see it?" he questions with a earnest expression, "I'm speechless whenever you come into view, and yet you don't even know how entrancing your smile is."

I don't say anything. I quite literally can't. How do I respond to that? How do I explain something to him that I don't even know myself? I don't know why I don't feel beautiful, but I never have. I've always been insecure. Maybe that's the reason I've always been so shy...

I don't respond with words, and instead I close the distance between our faces and gently interlock my lips with his.

He kisses me back immediately, but it only last for a couple seconds before we reluctantly pull away.

We both lean back with massive smiles lining our faces, and I can't help but blush and look away; however, his gaze doesn't leave my frame.

I'm nervous and don't know what to do, which I've noticed happens a lot when I'm around him. I fix my hair and shift in my seat awkwardly, before finally gaining enough confidence to look back at him, his eyes still focusing on me.

"We're going to be late if you don't stop staring, chico amante," (Translation: lover boy) I tease, neither my smile nor his faltering one bit.

"So then we'll go, mi querida," (Translation: my dear) Cole replies, turning to face the road and driving off.

"Wait a minute," I say, surprised, "Since when do you know Spanish?"

"Well, I take French in school, but I started to pick up some Spanish because of you," he explains, and I just stare at him incredulously. "I also remember you saying that your mom mainly speaks Spanish, so I wanted to learn so I could talk more with her."

He shrugs it off as if what he is saying isn't a big deal, but I don't think he actually knows how much it means to me. No one has ever done something like this for me before just because, and taking up an entire language is especially generous.
