Grace, Kirsty and Larry are eating a meal at the restaurant. Grace and Larry had little appetite to judge by their plates. They looked as if they hadn't slept in several nights.
"Maybe we should never have come back." Larry spoke up.
"Maybe you should give it some time..." Kirsty pauses and looks at Grace. "...Grace is doing well, I don't want her to move to another house or area, she is settling in... She's opening up more..." She whispers to her father. "...with Julia, like I've just said, give it some time."
"I agree." Grace spoke up, playing with her pasta.
"I guess." Larry agrees, looking at both girls.
Kirsty and Grace skirts their real feelings. "She's not like mom. She's...I don't know...moody. I thought that was what you liked about her."
Larry looks at Kirsty. "You don't like her at all, do you?" He questioned, silenced Kirsty for a moment.
Grace stares at the two.
Kirsty wants to be delicate with her father's feelings, but be honest at the same time. "I don't know her..."
Larry scoffs. "You've known her longer than Grace, but she makes an effort..." He points out.
Grace eyes sweep side to side watching the two bicker away. They are so alike. She was highly amused.
"...if you left me finish, daddy." She paused and takes a sip of her wine. " As I was saying. I don't know her...Julia is so closed off..."
Larry's face is full of desire for reassurance. Kirsty tries to offer it.
"If you love her, she must be worth having...just give me some time."
Larry nods, a weak smile on his face.
"She doesn't want to leave the house." He tells them.
Grace's eyes widen. "Really." She asks her head tilted to one side. Her eyes slide at Kirsty.
"When was the last time she left the house?" Kirsty asked with interest.
"She hasn't...it's like she's waiting for something..."
Grace knew that was a lie. "Waiting for what?"
Larry shrugs. "I don't know. It's beyond me." He pauses, and looks at both girls, mainly at Kirsty. "...would you...maybe call around sometime? Try to make friends." He begs.
Kirsty smile is false. "Sure."
"Maybe all she needs is female company."Frank is standing at the top of the stairs dressed in his stained suit. Julia is a few steps down staring at him.
"You can't love him." He tells her.
"I don't." She replied.
"So, where's the harm.?"
"I said no." She says firmly.
"Then find me someone else, before they come looking...."
Julia nods.
"Tomorrow." He demands her.
