Kaz, Nina, Jessper, Y/n and another boy she had never seen before, all crowded around a table in the main gambling hall. Y/n had ordered a plate of bacon and eggs and was eating and listing at the same time. A hard task when eating food this good.
"So, what do we know about the new leader of the Dime Lions? She's young, like us. She worked with Pekka for years before taking over the Lions. No one can find where she came from before that, and every other aspect of her life is hidden. We don't even know her name. She goes by The Queen of Diamonds." Kaz slouched into his chair as he said this, two gloved fingers rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"I've heard that name before." Mumbled Y/n through a mouthful of bacon.
"She has a sister in the little palace, her name is Thaliana. She's a fabricator, we trained together with-" Kaz held up his hand to stop her.
"We have to go to Ravka." Jessper shook his head.
"No, no. We are not kidnapping her sister!" The boy whose name Y/n was yet to learn looked up.
"Maybe we don't have to." Nina leaned in; she was clearly enjoying the drama of the conversation."
The boy spoke again.
"Y/n, you can create people, right? Can you also alter their looks? Make them look how you want?
Y/n shook her head.
"I don't know I've never tried. I've only ever made one person before." The boy smiled and held out his hand.
"I'm Wylan by the way."
"Wylan no time for formality's, we have a job to do." Kaz snapped at the boy, causing Wylan to recoil into the wall. Jessper rolled his eyes.
"Stop harassing my boyfriend. Anyways I checked out the Kaelish Prince, there security has doubled since the mighty queen began her rain. The only entrance and exit is through the vent on the roof, it's too steep for the guards to patrol on."
Nina locked eyes with Kaz.
"No Nina." Kaz shook his head.
"We don't need her." Nina placed her hand over kaz's gloved one.
"Yes, we do, I just think that-." Kaz ripped his hand out from under Nina's.
"No, we don't!" He stood up and grabbed his cane before disappearing up the stairs to his office.
