Chapter 45: Unreasoning

Alice was right, although she got the person that Jane injured wrong. Jane attacked Samuel. "WHY DID YOU BETRAY ME!" Jane shouted as she was going after Samuel.

Edward,Emmett, and Jasper stepped in and got between them, Alec just stood there, he was trying to use his power but it wasn;t working due to my shield. I felt bad for Samuel, Jane attacked him cause he chose to side with us. Emmett and Jasper held Jane, while Edward and Carlisle tried to calm her down. Jacob, Sam and Seth stood near Alec, he didn;t dare to move with them standing there in their wolf forms. Alice, Rosalie and I all tried to help Samuel, Jane did a pretty good job of hurting him, we got him calmed down and waited for Carlisle to come help him.

"Are you alright?" I asked with a concerned tone.

"Yes." Samuel replied with a smile. I did feel bad for what had happened, Carlisle and Edward were trying to reasoon with Jane, I got up and headed over to them.

As I got closer Jane snapped. "YOU!" she shouted "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" she struggled trying to get loose from Emmett and Jasper. I knew she wanted to get me, I tried to talk to her.

"Jane, please," I pleaded. "Don't do this." I could see the anger building up in her. Her eyes were always red but now they looked like fire, she was so mad at me that she would tear me apart if she could. I took a few steps back. "I'm sorry."

Jane just looked at me. "Your sorry?" she asked "Sorry for what?"

"For making you so mad," I said "I'm sorry that me loving Edward made you so upset."

Jane stared at me, it was hard to tell what she was thinking, I could tell by the look on Edwards face that she must be alright cause he didn't stressed about it. As we stood there talking Edward told Emmett and Jasper to let Jane go. They hesitated at first then did what he said, Jane actually smiled, she looked....happy.....or so I thought. About that time her smile turned into a evil grin and Edward hit the ground, I had dropped my shield and now Edward was in pain. I felt so bad, I can't believe I let my shield down, I should have known it was a trick. I instantly tried to shield him again, it was harder to do once she had a hold on him but I did it. Although when I did I got her too. She started screaming.

"GET IT OFF ME!" she shouted. I tried to pull it away from her but I wasn't able to I wasn't sure what was going on. Meanwhile Alec tried to get around the wolves to get to Jane, he hit Seth but then got stopped by Jacob and Sam. Sam had him pinned to the ground.

Jane was still screaming, my shield was doing something to her, it was making her power reflec back to her so she was hurting herself everytime she tried to hurt us. I actually felt bad cause I was causing her pain and I didn't mean to do it. I tried to retract the shield away from her but it was stuck, I couldn'd get it to let go of her. "Stop trying to force pain!" I shouted, trying to get it off her.

She tried to relax and not think about pain, after about 20 minutes I was finally able to get the shield off of her, but by this time she had passed out. It was really weird since vampires don't sleep or anything. But as soon as the shield was back to me Jane hit the ground, she wasn't moving. Carlisle rushed over trying to help her, Sam and Jacob kept Alec pinned down afraid he would retaliate against us for hurting Jane.

"What have I done?" I asked kneeling to the ground.

"It's not your fault." Edward said putting his arms around me and pulling me up into his arms.

"Yes, it is." I said "I did this to her." Edward continued to hold me as Carlisle examined Jane.

"We have to get her back to the house." Carlisle said anxiously. Jasper and Emmett picked her up and carried her back home. Rosalie and Alice took Samuel as well.

Edward and Carlisle went over to talk to Alec, they convinced him to come back to the house and help with Jane. You could tell he hated the idea and he wanted to kill me but he aggreed, mostly because she was his sister. So we all headed back to the house, Jacob, Sam and Seth included.
