Chapter 25: Unexpected Reaction

We sat there talking "Do you think Jacob will be happy?" I asked. "I'm sure he will" Edward replied "Why wouldn't he?" I sat there thinking, I hope Jacob don't overreact. I looked at Edward and even though he can't read my mind he knew what I was thinking. "Yes" he said "Why don't we go to the restaurant just to make sure he don't overreact". So we got ready to head out. As we were getting ready to leave there was a knock on the door. Edward opened the door and there stood Alice. "Hey Alice, what are you doing here?" Edward asked. Alice was suppose to be away for Valentines day. Alice was jumping up and down. "Is it true?" she asked "Is what true?" Edward asked in a calm voice, apparently he knew already what she saw. "You know what I mean" Alice said "Yes" Edward replied "Renesemee is pregnant" Alice squealed "YAY" "But don't tell anyone yet" Edward said. "My lips are sealed" Alice said. Then she left and so did we.

Edward and I headed to the restaurant that Renesmee and Jacob were at. We we walked through the door we could see Renesmee and Jacob towards the back of the restaurant. As we asked for a table close to them Edward got this worried look on his face. He was obviously reading one of their minds, but which one. We sat at the booth behind them.

Edward still had the look so I said "What's wrong?" He leaned towards me and said "She is telling him now, and he is going to lose it" I looked at him confused "What do you mean, lose it?" And about that time Jacob shouted "You have got to be kidding" I couldn't believe he would react this way, I thought he would be happy. "He is going to make a scene" I said Edward got a worse look on his face and I could see the anger building up. I didn't know what was going on but he jumped up and grabbed Jacob and dragged him outside.

Renesmee looked at me and said "What is going on?" I put my arm around her and led her out of the restaurant and said "I don't know honey". We paid the bill then went to find Jacob and Edward.

Edward had Jacob in the alley. "What are you doing?" I asked "Bella, Renesmee, got the other way" Edward demanded. Renesmee started crying. I went toward Edward and Jacob and said "Edward, let him go now" Edward looked at me, but he did as I asked. He let go of Jacob and then I said "What is going on?"

Jacob looked at Edward then at me and said "Did you know Renesmee is pregnant?" I looked at Renesmee then at Jacob and replied "Yes, she told me earlier" Jacob looked at me like he was disgusted "And you don't have a problem with it" he said. I was confused, I didn't understand how he was so mad about this. Renesmee was still crying and Edward went to comfort her while I talked to Jacob.

"What are you talking about?" I asked "Oh don't pretend you don't know" he said in anger. "I don't Jacob just tell me" I said. He looked at Renesmee and Edward then back at me and replied "She is half vampire" "Yeah, and?" I said confused, he knew that from the start. "And" he said "And that means she will end up like you" I was still confused, Edward was getting really mad because of what Jacob was thinking. "Will someone please tell me what is going on?" I demanded. Edward walked over to me and said "Jacob thinks that the baby will kill Renesmee like she killed you.

I looked at Renesmee then Edward then Jacob and said "Jacob is that true?" He looked at me with a stupid look and said "Duh" Renesemee walked over to Jacob and said "You were happy about Sam having a baby" "Yeah" Jacob said "And he isn't having anything that would be part monster" I could see the hurt in Renesemees eyes, it wasn't her fault that she was what she was "Jake nothing will happen to me" Renesemee said in a firm voice. Jacob gave her a look then said "Yeah and Bella said the same thing, and look at her" I was hurt by this, I was angry that he was saying this to Renesmee. "Well Jacob" I said "It could be worse, I would be totally dead. But I'm not" Jacob looked at me then said "Your right" Then he looked at Renesmee and said "Nessie, I'm sorry. It's just I'm afraid something will happen to you" Renesmee smiled and said "I know" "I'm sorry for what I said about you" Jacob said as he hugged Renesmee. "But I am still worried" "It's alright Jake" Renesemee said as she gave him a kiss.

　

　

I could tell by the look on Edwards face that Jacob was still thinking about when I had Renesmee. I never thought Jacob would of had the reaction he did, as we were heading back to the car I gave Renesmee a hug and said "I'm sorry honey, I never thought he would act this way" "It's alright mom" she replied. After she got into the car I looked at Jacob and said "If she was in danger I would of never let her marry you" Jacob looked at me confused. "We talked to Carlisle about this before you married her". "Yes, Jacob, I tried to explain it to you, but you didn't want to talk about that with me" Jacob just looked at us. "There is a slim chance that the baby will have 25% vampire but since she is half vampire it won't even affect her" Jacob looked sad now, "What have I done" he said putting his head in his hands. "It is alright" I said "Just make sure you don't upset her while she is pregnant" Edward looked at me then at Jacob and said "Rephrase that, don't upset her anytime"

Well Renesmee and Jacob headed back home as did Edward and I. "I can't believe he reacted that way" I said. "Well after what he seen you go through I can understand why he is concerned" Edward replied. I looked at him "You are the one that dragged him out of the restaurant". I said. "Yes" he replied " But only because I didn't want him making a scene in front of everyone, he was so made he would say anything. Not caring who would hear" I thought about that for a second then I got it. Everyone would have learned that Renesmee was half vampire. Well the rest of the trip was quiet. When we got to Carlisle's Jacob and Renesmee was already there. Jacob was talking to Carlisle and mom, Sarah and Alice were hovering over Renesmee. I was pretty sure they all knew now.

I went in and sat down with Renesmee, Edward went up to find Jacob and Carlisle. Esme was feeding Masen and Mom was even there with Sarah. Everyone was so excited, everyone but Renesmee. I could see it in her face, she wasn't as happy as she was earlier today. "May I talk to you Renesmee?" Renesmee looked at me and replied "Sure" So we walked outside. "Are you alright?" I asked with concern. "Yes" she replied, looking at the ground. "Jacob didn't mean what he said" I said as I gave her a hug. "I know" she replied "He is just worried because of what he seen you go through" I smiled at her and said "Yes, but he don't understand that you are different then I was" Renesemee looked at me and said "It will be alright, won't it?" I held her tight and told her "Of course it will honey, we won't let anything happen to you.....Ever"
