And so, the day finally arrived. For most people, it would likely seem like any normal day. The sun was shining, the temperature was lukewarm, and nothing noteworthy was happening. But little did they know that this day was the dawn of the end of your life. Why, you may ask, is this day so inherently terrible?
Well, it's quite simple.
Shu Itsuki's 'teaching' sessions begin today. As you entered the classroom that morning, you realized that you had to be prepared to lose your life on this very day. Thank you for allowing me to live this life.
"You okay?" your seatmate, Kaoru Hakaze, was staring at you with immense concern. "The way you're sweating like crazy and clasping your hands in a prayer is making me think that the apocalypse is gonna start tomorrow."
It may as well. You smiled politely at him and shook your head. "I apologize, I must have lost my composure. I can assure you with confidence that the apocalypse most certainly is not going to happen today."
"...The way you said that is sorta suspicious. Is the apocalypse actually happening or something?"
. . .
Before you knew it, the end of the regular school day had arrived. Shu was (unfortunately) in your classroom, so if you made a dash for it in a desperate attempt to escape, he would make sure you'd endure hell when you came back. He strode over to you flamboyantly.
"Come."
The way he spoke and gestured to you was sort of like he was handling a dog, but you shoved your annoyance aside and followed him so your classmates wouldn't have a bad impression of you. I'd rather be seen as a doormat than an asshole.
Mika was eagerly waiting inside the classroom, his eyes shimmering like Sirius. He had a small notepad and a pen prepared—he almost looked like a journalist, but you didn't want to spoil his mood. Despite the fact Mika was somewhat of a masochist, he was a nice kid. There's no point in stomping all over his excitement purely for the sake of stomping over his excitement.
"Teach is actually teaching...this is something I thought I could only dream about..." Mika mumbled to himself, seemingly in some sort of shocked state as if the events happening around him were too much for his brain to process.
"You know, all of the sudden I feel sorta sick," you let out a forced laugh and slowly stepped backwards towards the door.
Shu glanced back at you with furrowed eyebrows. "An opportunity to learn from my teachings is one that shan't be missed for some feeble illness. Your complexion seems fine, and it strikes me as suspicious that your ailment only became prevalent once you entered this room."
"If she doesn't feel up to it, what can ya do?" Mika shrugged his shoulders. He probably just wants a private lesson with Shu. You met Mika's gaze and simultaneously both gave the other a small nod to indicate understanding of the end objective.
