A slight breeze golfed me as I was making my way down the rockslide path towards the fresh-kill pile. Newleaf had brought the clans plentiful of prey, and it was safe to say it would be like this till the end of green-leaf.
This upcoming time would be going down in the Mountain range clans history, would it be the end of the clans? Or maybe a life changing season? No cat could really tell us that.
Not even Starclan themselves.
Making my way down the Rockslide path and towards the fresh-kill I scooped up a fat quail from the early hunting patrol and made my way towards the elders den.
Foxwhisker was outside the elders den grooming himself and i stopped besides him, my shadow looming over him caught his eye and he quickly stopped licking his spiky tail to look up at me.
"Silentpaw! How are you my little shrewling?" The dark red tom mewed with a raspy tone.
I purred lovingly at my kin, Foxwhisker was my fathers father and before this NewLeaf I really had no relationship with the elder besides being his clan mate but over the sun shinning down on the clans Mouseclaw and him had reconnected, resolving me and Leafpaw to become closer with the elder.
I placed down the fat quail at Foxwhiskers paws and he purred in delight, "Come, sit with this old fox and eat with me! Flowerheart and Flakenose already had their share of prey and are gossiping in our den."
He purred while patting the side of him with his tail.
I followed his request and laid down next to him while pushing the quail over so he could have the first bite.
Foxwhisker took a large bite out of the quail before speaking with a full mouth, "Have you been to the medicine cat den recently?" He mewed the question slowly and the memories of the pervious day flashed before me.
Snowpebble, Dawnsky, and Embernose had been attacked by the rouges while on a hunting patrol.
The three warriors were all greatly harmed and had held their own. Embernose was the cat with the most strength and had explained to Finchstar and Mallowtail that is was obvious the rouges didn't intend to kill on this attack, but to give more of a warning.
The Skyclan cats were greatly outnumbered by the rouges and the rouges were led by a rouge tom Embernose said name was Coal.
"Their tactics are getting better, when I was fighting those flee pelts it reminded me of fighting a Thunderclan cat!" Embernose hissed while Ivypaw was placing some cobwebs on a deep wound on the toms shoulder.
"They must be forcing the Thunderclan cats to teach them their moves. If they already started that with Thunderclan moves, who's telling if our traitor of a apprentice is teaching them ours." Mallowtail growled while clawing at the medicine cat den with his claws.
At the time I was listening to the ordeal behind my mentor and I watched Finchstar lift her bushy tail and smack it across Mallowtail back.
It took me a moment to realize Mallowtail had just bad mouthed our traitor, Blackstorm, to his own father, Embernose.
I wonder how Embernose feels about this situation? Is he ashamed or in denial?
