AN: I am very sad to announce that this is the last chapter for season 2. HOWEVER...I may write a few bonus chapters. But not right now. I have been working on this story nonstop since season 2 of Shadow and Bone came out and I need a small break from writing constantly so I don't burn out. So, while I take a break, I am willing to let you guys give some ideas for extras!

Right here! Suggestions right here! ⭕️

For now, enjoy your chapter!

The remaining Crows were quiet on the way back to Ketterdam. They felt the void left behind by Inej's absence. Even Nina's absence was unnerving. Six Crows had dwindled down by two in the matter of a day.

Jesper and Wylan were stuck like glue together, talking and sometimes smiling to each other. They were obviously in their own little world brought on by the honeymoon phase of their new relationship.

Daemon was curled up on a seat, her eyes drooping with exhaustion. Kaz was sitting about 2 feet from her. He was glancing at her every two seconds. And it was bothering Daemon a lot.

Daemon got tired of it quickly and slid herself right up next to him before resting her head on her knees again. She was done with him ignoring her or pushing her away. If he was going to do that, she was going to push herself closer to him and force him to stop his dramatics.

"I'm going to rebuild the Crow Club. Do you want your own room?" Kaz asked.

Daemon clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes, "No way. I miss sleeping with you. So much more comfortable. But I want extra blankets and pillows this time. And I want some new shoes. These ones are terrible and old."

Kaz bit back a smile as Daemon complained on and on about what she wanted and didn't want in the new club.

"Make a list. Whatever you want," Kaz told her.

Daemon grinned and bumped her arm into his lightly. It was a start. Everything would go back to normal. Between them, at least.

"Fine. But you still owe me a kiss, remember?!" Daemon said, tapping her lips for good measure.

Kaz gave her a lighthearted glare, "I said we'll talk about it."

Daemon huffed, "What a rip off! You're so mean, Kaz!"

Kaz just shrugged. He was happy to see her lightening up again. The storm surrounding her was far from over, but the worst had passed. All he could do now was support her through it.

Daemon rocked back and forth, absentmindedly braiding her brushed hair with a crooked smile. When her hair was brushed out, it looked like a lion's mane, thick, curly, and bushy. But it suited her in a way. It was better than bird's nests forming in her hair that Inej would used to have to fight Daemon to untangle. But Kaz would definitely have to get her some hair clips or something.

Jesper plopped down on the other side of Daemon, "Well then. Please tell me it's time for a break, Kaz."

Wylan sat next to him with a small smile, "A break would be nice."

Daemon smirked, "No. Kaz told me he's gonna make you help rebuild the whole club."

Jesper's mouth dropped open in disbelief, "He did not...Did you really say that?"

Kaz didn't even bother to answer. He wasn't about to get in the middle of their antics.

"Kaz? Come on. Construction is not a Jesper talent!"
