No One's POVFor days Keith tried to figure out what the galras in the dungeon could have possibly meant. To turn the blade? He didn't understand it. He kept coming back to the same conclusion, the blade would turn in the hands of a galra, but regardless of if he decided to give it to the galras, he had to know how it came to be his. It belonged to his mother. He had lost his father and in turn, lost himself until Shiro took him in. He nearly neglected his responsibilities when Shiro went missing. All he had left was this blade and the connection it held to his mother. He had know.
"Sir Keith?" Princess Allura called as she walked outside her chambers and taken off down the hall. "Are you coming?"
Keith nodded firmly as he caught up and fell in line with her.
"Is something the matter? You've been awfully quiet."
"I am normally quiet unless engaged in conversation." Keith replied.
"I supposed so, but you seem distant and rather distracted. Is there something on your mind?" Allura asked Keith as they continued walking.
"No, why would anything be wrong?" Allura pouted as she knew Keith was hiding something but refused to tell her.
"Sir Keith, we are friends yes?"
"W-what?" Keith asked caught off guard as he paused in step.
"I mean, I know you are my knight and sworn to protect me but with that responsibility we have become closer. We joke and talk more informally than that of simple knight and princess. I have no problem sharing my troubles with you like friends and if we are friends then you should have no trouble sharing your problems with me...right?"
"Princess, its not a matter of if we are friends but a matter of...of privacy. Of course I think of you as a friend and trust you but-"
"But what? Whatever it is I can help? Truly." Allura insisted.
Keith's POV
I can't tell her about my meeting with the galra, let alone the blade. But what can I say to make her stand down.
"Guy stuff." I replied.
"Guy stuff?" She questioned, "well what is that?" Of course she'd be curious to know. I should have gone with problems with the black lion. But then again she'd probably question me on that too.
"Uh, well..." I-I can't tell Allura about any guy stuff. I mean not the other guy stuff. Its pretty obvious I'm not having minor problems like acne or hairy face. I have to come up with something not too minor but not too dirty that I'll get lectured by Coran.
"Well, uh, it's-"
"I'm beginning to wonder if the problem is actually guy stuff or if your stalling?" Allura asked lifting a brow.
"Its complicated."
"How?"
"I uh, I like some girl." I blurted. It was one of the biggest mistakes. I'd never seen the Princess's eyes glow so wide before. Her eyes seemed to shimmer and light up like a thousand nebulas. It was somewhat surprising.
"Oh." She said covering her mouth to hide her grin, but I could tell she was grinning as her cheeks were tugged upwards and were full of blush. "Who is she?" She asked. "Do I know her? Is it Veronica?"
"What? No!" No way! I mean no offense to Vernonica but not a chance. The day Lance and I become brothers- it'd be a cold day in Zarkon's ship.
"Who?" She pleaded as she grabbed ahold of my cape and began tugging at it as if she were a child wanting to play with the big kids or wanting to be a part of the gossip.
I already know I'm going to regret this. "It's Pidge." I replied. As expected,. I regretted it, but not the way I imagined.
"Oh." Princess Allura said as she released my cape and eased back a bit. "Pidge?" She repeated. Was that wrong?
"Y-Yes."
"Oh, well...how wonderful for her." She said. Her eyes seemed to have the lost the color as her widen grin faded to all but a faint smile that could shatter at the smallest sound or touch. Why is it that Allura seems to be disappointed? As if that was not the answer she was looking for?
"Wel, ugh, we should hurry. I have a meeting with Coran and perhaps you could join Pidge to the dungeon."
Dungeon? "Pidge is going to the dungeon?"
"Yes, she has been running analysis on those Galra ships our Galra prisoners were from. Apparently, she's found something. If you wish to spend time with her, I can go to my meeting and you can go with her."
Yes. Yes! This may be what I need. Maybe Pidge found something that can crack those Galra, but I also need to make sure they don't let it slip I was there.
"Thank you, princess." I replied to her as I took a small bow. But when I looked at her, it was as if light had faded in her eyes. But why? And why was it bothering me?
