Be Mine Again

Jennifer's pov

I knock on the open door of Leah's office making her look up at me. She takes her glasses off. "Hey beautiful" she smiles. I smile back. "Hey, me and Mariela are gonna go work on the garden care to join us?" I ask.

She looks down at her desk and it's crowded with papers. "I'm sorry hun, but I can't. I have a lot of work to do" she says sincerely.

"It's alright, we'll be outside if you need us" I press my lips and walk away.

I see Mariela at the end of the hallway with her gloves on and her sun hat. "Mama can't join us today but maybe next time okay?" I said. She pouts put her lip.

"Mama always working." She complains. "I know honey, but she's just making money for us." I said grabbing her hand and walking outside with her.

We walk down a pathway behind the bushes and see our little fence with a gate. Mariela rushes passed me and opens the gate for us. She leaves it open for me.

"Thank you baby" I smile and walk in.

She closes it behind me and then runs to the corner where we left off last time.

I knee down and she follows. "You want to do the digging or should I?" I ask grabbing the medium sized shovel. "I want to put the flowers this time!" She says excitedly.

I put my gloves on since I left them out here. I hand her the flower and she grabs it. Then I start to dig the right size hole for it.

Then she puts it down in the hole and starts bringing the soil and dirt around it and starts patting it.

"Good job!" I smile and kiss her cheek. "I'm so good at this" she said. "You really are" i said.

We continued and finished that corner. Then we decided we needed a break.

She again run passed me leaving me behind but leaves the door open for me. "Thank you" i said. "You're welcome mommy!" She yells and runs in the house. I smile shaking my head.

I get in the house and close the sliding door.

I take my gloves off and wipe the sweat off my forehead.

"Baby are you hungry?" I ask. "Yes! Can you cook me something please?" She asks nicely from the living room. "Okay honey, it'll be done in 20 minutes" I said. "Okay" she replies.

After cooking I bring the food to her. She has a play table there so I put the plate there and she ate there. "I'll be back baby I'm gonna go give this to mama" I said and leave her there.

I make my way to Leah's office and see her talking on the phone. It sounded like her assistant.

I knock on the door and she looks up at me. "Give me a second crystal. Yes?" She asks.

"I made food, if you're hungry" I said softly showing her the plate. "No I'm not hungry, thank you tho" she says and goes back to her phone call.

I press my lips and walk away. I put the plate in the microwave and grab my plate bring it to the living room to eat with Mariela.

After we finished eating Mariela came with me to the kitchen to put our plates away. "Thank you" I said. I put the dishes in the sink and begin washing them.

Mariela disappears but I don't bother.

After putting the dishes on the dish rack and drying my hands I heard Leah complaining. "Jennifer!" She yells.

I furrow my brows and walk to her office. "Yes baby?" I ask. That's when I see Mariela trying to get Leah's attention. "Mama come help us with the garden" she says trying to climb on her lap.
