Two days later....

Jennifer's pov..

"I tried to kiss her! I messed up everything." I said covering my face from Vicky.

"Baby." She says softly and rubs my back.

"You didn't ruin anything, it's okay." She says.

"Yes I did. Now shes probably gonna go back to ignoring me. I was tipsy and feeling myself and it's gonna cost me." I sigh.

"Jen, mama, it's going to be ok." She says.

"You don't understand. All I want to do is kiss her and love her but she doesn't even want to be with me. The only reason we even talk to each other is because of Mariela." I said making eye contact.

"Leah loves you Jen. She does, she's just lost right now and needs to find herself."

"I hope so." I said in my hands.

Weeks later....

Im outside, in the garden that me, Mariela and Leah made back a few years ago. Im just reliving those days right now.

Me and Leah have hung out but only when we are with Mariela. I tried to have lunch with her again but she says she's doing something or she isn't free.

Im just reminded of how much I've messed up. I feel so bad. I knew we were making progress but I had to mess it up.

"Mom!" I hear. I jump out of my trance.

"Out here babe!" I said. "Oh, mama just texted me." She said coming out the sliding door.

"What'd she say?" I ask. She sits next to my legs on the lounge chair.

"She said she wants to go to the beach with us." She said. I tilt my head. "Us?" I ask.

"Well, she invited me only at first but I asked if you could come along and she said yes." She said typing.

"I don't want to impose. If she wants to be only you two it's fine." I said.

"No mom, you're going." She said.

"I told her you'd come, so get dressed. She's picking us up." She said and leaves.

I sit up and watch her walk back in the house.

Us going to the beach? As a family? It's kind of weird.

I get up and put my bikini on and clothes on top.

It took me a while to choose which one. They don't look the same as they did on my body.

I might just wear a cover up the whole time and not get in the water.

I put my sandals on and leave my room.

"Mom she's here!!" Mariela yells from downstairs.

"Okay, I'll be right down!" I yell back.

I make sure to have everything in my bag and purse. After checking I go downstairs and follow Mariela out the door.

"Grandma?" I hear Mariela say when she opens the back seat door.

" Hey baby" Vicky says from inside.

I make my way to the back but Vicky stops me. "Jen go in the front." She says while Leah was in the driver seat on her phone.

"No it's okay, you can go in the front." I said. "Jen, in the front." She says.

I sigh softly and close Marielas door after she gets in.

I take a deep breath before opening the passenger door.
