Lucy was a sneaky kid, there was no two ways about it. She had been since she was young. She had learnt to be light on her feet, always sneaking out to wherever she wanted to go. In recent years it had been to see a girlfriend, not that she had told anyone but her sister about it, considering the conservative nature they had been brought up around.
While making her way down the halls, wanting to see what the in-house chef was cooking for dinner, she couldn't help but hear the familiar, thick accent voice of Maggie coming from her brother's room which was situated on the same floor as hers, same with her sisters. The house was so big, they all wanted to feel close and at home.
With curiosity burning in her veins she couldn't help but press her pierced ear to the door, wanting to know what was going on. While listening in, it was clear that these two were something, something more than just friends. After a while of silence and curiosity keeping her there, Lucy heard what she wasn't supposed to. Maggie was pregnant.
Lucy was a blunt kid. She didn't know how to hold her tongue or control her anger, or any emotion for that matter. After contemplating for a few moments she burst through the door, seeing Maggie and William cuddling, William's hand laying gently on Maggie's stomach. "Maggies pregnant and you two are fucking?" She spoke, both confused and annoyed. Why were they not made aware of this?
William and Maggie quickly separated, their eyes widened at the teen age girl standing before them. There was no hiding any more, the curtains were down and they were exposed.
William swallowed thickly and mustered up some sort of response, "Lucy.. Please. This has nothing to do with you, just stay out of it."
"It's happening in our house, I think it has everything to do with me, and if it doesn't, I'm pretty sure it does with Ali." She spoke, folding her arms in a sassy manner. She was your typical bitchy fifteen year old girl.
Maggie stood silent, a single hand grasping on to William's shirt. William took a deep breath, trying to stay calm for Maggie's sake, "Lucy, don't bring Alison into this. Not yet."
"Well then tell me what the fuck is going on?" She spoke in an aggressive tone, secrets being a pet peeve of hers.
William sighed, "Can you stop cursing? You know I hate when you do that." He took a second to gather his thoughts and then continued, "Maggie and I have been together for a while now. She is pregnant. I'm sorry we've kept it a secret for so long but Alison. We were too afraid to tell her, Lu."
"Yeah she's gonna beat your ass." Lucy scoffed and perched herself on the bed "You could have told me." She shrugged "So how long has this been going on?"William grabbed Maggie's hand and led her to be seated next to him on the bed, "A year and a half now." He muttered under his breath. Revealing the details was not something he had planned on doing at this very moment but his little sister was quite persistent.
Lucy placed her hands down on the bed only to retract them and stand up quickly "ew ew ew!" She repeated, realising she was sat where they would do, as she called, the nasty. "I'm impressed you kept this quiet for so long." She continued on the subject and went over to his office chair instead. "So what you guys gonna do?" She asked.
Maggie couldn't help but let a chuckle slip from her lips. William nudged her shoulder to keep her from continuing the laughter, "Well it's really up to Mags. It's her choice. We've only just done the tests so we haven't really had the time to discuss it."
Maggie shifted uncomfortably on the bed, "I want to keep it." she said, bringing her hand to William's arm. "We're keeping it."
Just as soon as they spoke of their decision, they could hear the front door creak open.
