CHAPTER ELEVEN

I learn a lot about Jamie over dinner.

I learn that she has only ever had about two serious relationships. The first, was from when she was sixteen to eighteen, and the second, a couple years ago.

I also learn that she one day aspires to have her own horse, but right now, she doesn't have the money.

She wants kids, as well. She's a motherly type of person.

The one thing I don't learn, though, is whether we are seeing each other or not. The question is on the tip of my tongue, but each time I go to say it, something else comes out.

After dinner, we decide to watch a movie.

" What do you want to watch?" she asks, carrying a bowl of popcorn over.

I shrug, tossing a blanket onto the couch. " Whatever you want."

Jamie switches off the light and turns to me. " Something creepy."

I laugh. " Okay."

By the halfway mark of Cabin in the Woods, Jamie is hiding her face in my chest. I wrap a comforting arm round her as I feel her warm breath on me.

" You okay?" I ask. " I can turn it off if you like."

Jamie peeks out at me and shakes her head. I smile, looking back at her. She raises her head and slowly, I lower mine, until our lips are touching.

After the kiss, I ask her, " So where does this put us?"

Turning her attention back to the movie, she says, " Well, where would you like it to put us?"

I feel my cheeks redden. " Well, um - well - I'd like it to put us in the position where you're, erm, you're my girlfriend." I don't even think that made any sense. Or maybe it did.

She looks up at me with a smile on her lips and a sparkle in her eyes, her dark hair cascading over her shoulder. " I'd like that, too."

I meet her halfway with a warm kiss.

After dropping off Jamie, I head back home and find Joanne and Ross along with Barry and Craig in the kitchen.

" So," Joanne squeals excitedly, " how did it go?"

" How did what go?" I ask nonchalantly, opening up a bag of crisps.

Barry rolls his eyes. " Mate, there were candles on the table."

I shrug. " So?"

" So how did it go?"

I sigh. " It went fine - good, actually."

" Did ye shag 'er then?" Ross grins and Joanne gives him a disapproving look, slapping him on the arm.

" No." I say.

" That bad, huh?" Craig laughs.

I roll my eyes. " It wisny like that."

Ross laughs. " And Sappy Sammy returns!"

Smiling slightly, I toe my boots off and walk through to the living room with my crisps. " I'm not Sappy!" I call over my shoulder, sitting down on the couch. " I'm romantic."

Barry walks into the living room, smirking as he crosses his arms over his chest. " We want you to know that we all approve of Jamie. She's a nice girl - very pretty."

I roll my eyes again. " Hmm, thanks, Dad." The rest of the crew emerge from the kitchen, laughing. I laugh, too, before pausing. " Anyway's, I'm glad you guys like her, because we're official."

I leave them all gasping as I walk into my room, a smirk gracing my lips.

As soon as I enter the room, I kick off all my clothes and relax into my bed, wearing only my boxers. I pull out my phone and text Jamie.

Hey, tonight was awesome. x

Her instant reply is: yeah, it really was. . . skype?

I blush. She wants to Skype?

After replying an affirmative, I dive out of bed and find a Blink 182 shirt just in time for my laptop to begin ringing.

I climb back into my bed and answer it.

The first thing I see is her beautiful face, clean of makeup and her hair pulled away from it to reveal her true beauty.

" Hi," she giggles, brushing a piece of stray hair out of her face.

" Hey," I whisper.

As soon as I say it, Barry, Ross, Joanne and Craig all burst into my room. I try to push them away but they all end up in the eye of the camera. Jamie's eyes widen and she blushes.

" Hi!" Joanne shouts, and I fail to mention that she doesn't have to shout for Jamie to hear her. " I'm Ross's wife, it's lovely to meet you!"

" You too," Jamie smiles nervously.

" Sam told us," Ross says with an over - exaggerated wink.

Jamie's eyes widen. " You told them?"

I rub the back of my neck and sheepishly say, " Yeah."

She doesn't say anything else, just smiles.

The squad leaves my room soon after, shouting their goodbyes to Jamie. As soon as the door closes, I sigh, rubbing my temples. " I'm so sorry about that."

" No! It's okay." she smiles. " I love the guys and Joanne seems so nice!"

I smile slightly. " She really is."

For the rest of the night we chat, and eventually, when I cast my eyes to the screen, Jamie is asleep.

I laugh quietly.

Raising my fingers to my lips, I quickly kiss them. Against my middle finger, I whisper, " Night, love," before pressing the kiss to Jamie's forehead.

I disconnect Skype and place my laptop on the floor. Taking off my shirt, I press on some quiet music and sink into my bed, quickly drifting off into a deep, relaxing sleep.
