"I hate mondays," said 23 year old Hyunjin. "Actually fuck that I hate every single day."
Hyunjin worked an average office job that had an average pay. He honestly didn't care where he worked as long as he had enough money to pay his rent and buy necessities. He didn't have an active social life and he'd never dated anyone. He had lost contact with most of his friends when they went to college. You could say he had a boring life. But Hyunjin didn't mind it. As long as he was away from that hell hole he once called 'home' he was okay with anything. He got ready for work, but not without feeling like something and was going to happen. And he hated that feeling. Because it was usually right.
On his way to work, someone bumped into him and made him drop his coffee. He was not okay with it but he let it pass. In the bus in his way to work a tiny dog kept yapping at him and he was annoyed. Thankfully he got to his stop soon so he didn't say anything about it.He finally got to his work place and immediately went to the lunch room first to make himself another coffee.
(Hyunjin never went a day without coffee)
He was glad that he had only been met with minor disturbances that day and started thinking that maybe he was just overthinking based on a feeling. Just because his gut feeling was right 99% of the time didn't mean that something bad was actually going to happen that day. There was still that 1%. As soon as he finished making his coffee he walked over to his cubicle and got to work.It was another boring day but he was glad his shift was about to end. Right when he was about to start packing up his things and go home, his supervisor called everyone in for a meeting. Hyunjin groaned as he made his way over because although his job may be boring, it sure as hell was tiring.
"I called you all here to inform you that starting tomorrow, you will have a new supervisor. I will still work here, but now as an assistant. I hope you all treat him with respect. You may all go home now," his supervisor (well former supervisor) Jeff said. Hyunjin actually liked his supervisor. He was nice. He hoped he got along with whoever the new supervisor would be.Hyunjin liked looking at the sunset hence why he usually just walked all the way home. It wasn't far anyways. As he was walking, he remembered when he was in high school and he would take walks with his former best friend. Honestly, he missed that, but he also wished never to see his former friend again. He was afraid to meet him again and was afraid what he would say to Hyunjin. He preferred leaving the past in the past and that included people he shut out of his life. For good reasons.
Soon he got home, and debated one whether he should shower first or eat dinner first. He decided to shower first in case he fell asleep early, and eat dinner later. Once he was out of the shower, he decided he was to tired to eat and decided to go to sleep instead. He set his alarm for the next day and fell into a deep sleep."YOU BITCH!! WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!! YOU SHOULD GO KILL YOURSELF.THEN EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPIER." Hyunjin's father yelled as he locked Hyunjin in his closet. "You won't come out of this closet until I say you can and when I do let you out, you will not annoy me again you hear? I SAID DID YOU HEAR ME!?! ANSWER ME WHEN I FUCKING TALK TO YOU BOY!!"
Darkness. Everywhere. That was all Hyunjin could see in the closet. He was starting to panic. He hated when his father locked him up in the closet. It was dark. And lonely. And small. And it seemed to be getting smaller and smaller. Hyunjin couldn't breath. He was panicking. He hated it there. But it was all his fault for being a bad boy he told himself. He had dropped his fathers plate of food and now his father was mad. "I deserve this, I was a bad boy," Hyunjin told himself.Hyunjin woke up panting, trying to catch his breath after the nightmare he had. He hated the nightmares. They plagued him with memories he would rather forget. He got up out of bed, a bit shakily since he was still trembling a bit. He wondered what time it was since he hadn't heard his alarm sound. He checked his phone, and realized he was late to work.
"SHIT!! And today is when the new supervisor comes. What a great first impression Hyunjin," Hyunjin said to himself. He ran to get ready and was finished in record time. He ran out the front door, it forgetting his coffee and made his way over to work as fast as he could.
"Your late Hyunjin," said Jeff as he tried to discreetly make his way over to his desk trying to not be seen.
"Am I really late though? What if you guys just got here really early?" Hyunjin playfully asked.
"Whatever. Come with me and introduce yourself to the supervisor, he saw your seat empty and asked if someone was missing. Be grateful I told him you were getting a coffee and told him you'd stop by later."
"Thanks Jeff I owe you one."
"You can thank me later with lunch let's go," said Jeff.
Hyunjin followed Jeff to the supervisor's office, and out of nowhere he got that feeling again that something was going to happen. Jeff led him through the door, and Hyunjin was met with a face he had hoped never to see again. One that he wished would disappear from his life forever. The face of his former best friend."Hwang Hyunjin?"
"What the fuck are you doing here 'Bang Chan' ".
