Anika

Back to the place where I had built everything only to destroy them with my own hands.

I can't build my castle upon someone else's tomb.

So before starting over with Shivaay once again, I need to check one thing first.

The most important confirmation is left to be taken.

Is Nikhil happy now? Has he moved on?

I don't dare to meet them again. I am afraid if I break their happiness once again.

I only want to see them from a distance. Check if they are happy. If they have forgotten me.

With every passing second, the closer I was getting to my hometown, the faster my heart was beating.

As the plane started landing, I left as if my heart would burst out.

Shivaay was by my side, holding my hands. I could see my nails piercing into his white skin but could not help myself to relax.

=============================

Grabbing a corner in the park, Anika hid herself from everyone she knew. From Priyanka's facebook, she had already known that she was in Odisha. She waited for Pinki to come down to gossip with her friends but there was no trace of her.

The sun was about to set when she saw Pinki coming down to the park with a small baby in hand. The first thought that came to her mind was if it was Nikhil's child, had he remarried.

Seeing Pinki smile and play with the child, she felt relieved. Pinki always wanted a grandchild. Just then she heard one of the neighbours gossiping, "These people are completely mad. Who names his child after his ex-wife who had run away? Even Pinki did not stop her son. God knows how his new wife is adjusting."

An arrow went through her happy heart. Her mother-in-law, her husband still loved her so much. They should have hated her but they chose not to. They chose to  name the new member after her. Did Nikhil's new wife hate her?

The clock had already hit 11o' clock. The park was almost empty. Shivaay would go time to time to buy food and make her smile, preventing her from breaking down.

It was almost midnight when a car entered. It was Nikhil's car. Anika could make no mistake recognising it. A lady stepped down from the passenger's seat and opened the door for the driver. Nikhil stepped down. Holding hands, the couple walked into the building.

Seeing them happy, a smile crept upto Anika's face, she looked at Shivaay. Seeing the satisfaction on her face, Shivaay eyes too shined in joy. Scooping her in his arms, he took her to his car to leave for Shillong- their new journey.
