Anika kept standing at the door. Her dilemma whether to ring the bell or not seemed never ending. She had started the affair with Shivaay then why did she hesitate before getting inside his house. Maybe because it was from here from where everything started. When she first entered she wanted to get a friend and be herself once again but she ended up becoming someone she had never imagined to be. She could finally be free with someone, live the hopeless romantic life she dreamt of once upon a time but her wish had come with a price. The price of being a disloyal wife. She wondered if she will have a happy ending.

Shivaay was standing on the other side of the door. He was seeing her through the keyhole- staring at his door for almost 10 minutes. The lines of stress were becoming more and more dominant on her face. He knew her inner turmoil and at the same time knew that he could never understand her situation. They were on a ship with no anchor.

He could no longer bear the wait, he hurriedly opened the door slightly and pulled her inside. Anika was shocked by the sudden move, she had been standing still without any guard and suddenly her hand was held and she was dragged. The atmosphere was in contrast within a second.

She opened her eyes and saw it was quite dark. The room seemed to be lighted by stars. A smile came to her face as she saw the black cardboard which had star figures cut on it set on the windows. The sunlight peeped through the holes, illuminating their faces.

He saw her face relaxing as she felt his breath, then how she opened her eyelids, her face brightening up on seeing him and then looking around, checking the surroundings. Her eyes expressed her happiness and amusement as she saw the stars.

"Wow" she said, her voice proving how much she loved it.

"You did it?" she asked looking at him.

"Didn't I say I will kiss you under the stars?" he replied.

Anika pecked on his cheeks and said, "You are more creative than I thought."

The mad-in-love couple looked at each other's eyes. That one moment of peace was worth it all. The guilt, the wait, the struggles and every other pain.

Shivaay wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tight. It was a hug of reassurance, a unspoken promise to be with her till his last breath and never let her go. Anika reciprocated the hug, closing her time- enjoying the bliss of the moment. It was only them- no one else.

Loosening the hug, he looked at her eyes.Their bodies pressed together heatedly in the cold room, breathing heavily as their lips pressed together. The gentle kiss soon turned into a passionate war. Their hands busy opening each other's clothes, their lips did not leave each other even for a moment. They fell on the soft mattress on the floor, Anika dominating over Shivaay. Shivaay let out a soft moan as she softly kissed his Adam's apple.

===============================

Anika was reading The Exorcist, sitting by the kitchen counter.

"Why don't you read the book along with me?" Anika asked a busy Shivaay who was deeply engrossed kissing her neck, distracting her.

"You read too fast, I can't keep up the pace. Moreover I don't like reading that much", he reasoned, still engaged in his work.

"Then why was this book on the table when you don't like reading?", her eyes fixed on the book.

"I thought of gifting it to you. You can take it home too without raising suspicion", his attention shifted on her bare shoulders.

"I will never marry you, you know that right?" Her tone had changed with the topic.

"I know that", he sighed.

"Still you still want to continue this affair? You must have also dreamt of marrying the girl you love, stand by her in public, have a child with her, plan family trips and what not. Have you ever thought about it?" she questioned. Her pitch had gone higher with her stress.

"I knew your marital status before falling in love with you. I don't care even if I am only your boytoy", he answered looking into her eyes, trying to reassure her.

"You might find this irritating soon-", she stated. Her voice was shaking as the fear of loosing him crept in.

"I won't", he protested, sure of his love for her.

"I will not argue on this", she gave out a faint smile." But if you ever want to settle with someone, I should to be the first one to know about it", she said. Anika did not dare to face him, she feared breaking down if she looked into his eyes once again.

"Why do you sound so sure that I would cheat you?", his voice showing how disturbed he was to see his loyalty doubted.

"Because once upon a time, I was also confident as you. I had also guaranteed of being loyal to mu husband. But look at me now. Forever is a lie. Most importantly, our relationship is not a one to be made public no matter hoe badly we wish. I can't see you wasting your life on me", she told and stood up, walking away.

"We haven't finished talking yet", Shivaay shouted, going behind her.

But Anika had left before he could reach her.

The book was still lying open on the counter.
