I looked down the steps and saw Ashton again laying on the ground. "Ash!" I yelled and I ran down the steps three at a time. I nearly tripped on the last step making me stumble upon the field. I ran and sank down on my knees next to Ashton. "Are you okay? Who did this?" I asked striking the hair out of his face.
"I don't know what happens but my head hurts. I'm fine though." He said as he turned his head and spit on the ground. "Don't worry about me." I wiped some sweat of his head and turned towards Cal and Michael.
"Was it Noah?" I asked towards them. They couldn't speak out loud but that one nod Calum gave me was enough. I stood up and slowly strode towards Noah. "Noah wasn't it?" I asked sickly sweet. He smirked and nodded before sharing a look with his friends. "Why did you do this?" My face turned cold as I glared at him.
"Who said I did anything, baby?" He snickered as he laughed at Ashton who was still at the ground.
"I just did. I see you have ears so you must've heard me. Why did you do this?" I took a step closer having to look up from the difference in length.
"Because I don't like him." He still had that stupid smirk on his face and I scoffed.
"Come on, that isn't all. We all know you want to have what he has. His career, his friends, his life." He suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer making me arch my back.
"His girlfriend." Noah groaned and I felt the need to puke. "And I know you want me too, baby girl. Just say the words and you'll be mine." I put my hands in his neck and leaned in closer so my lips stroke the side of his face.
"Never in a million years." I quickly pushed him away from me and punched him square in the jaw. I stood still shocked for a moment that I had actually punched the guy I had called cute only days ago.
"I see," he began, "you're also shocked how fast Irwin is rubbing off on you. In a few days you'll be prancing around school like you own the place. Than you'll," But he didn't get the chance to finish. Before he could finish the sentence he was punched again this time we all heard the satisfying crunch of his breaking nose.
"Don't talk about my best friend like that." Michael said before punching him again. "I don't care what he did to you but you're not talking about people like that."
"Little bug, little bug, you'll be squashed under my hands." Calum said after that but before they could all involve themselves in a fight the coach stood between them.
"You, you, you, you and you!" He screamed pointing at Ashton, Noah, Michael, Calum and lastly at myself. "You don't fight on school grounds. Ms. Young you take Mr. Irwin and Mr. Schwartz to the nurse to look over their injuries. Clifford, Hood, you go and shower. Come back when you're cooled off. If you lot do this one more time I'll have to put you four out of the team and expel all of you." I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears.
"Come on." Ashton said trying to get off the ground. "We need to go before we get expelled or worse thrown out of the team." As his pack walked towards him I could hear Calum whisper. "He really needs to sort out his priorities." I snickered laughing at their antics and started walking to the school.
"What no help for me?" Schwartz cried out.
"Don't be a wanker. You only have a bloody nose." I scoffed and left them all to come after me."Yes Mr. Schwartz I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your nose." The nurse told him for the hundredth time. He opened his mouth but I spoke before him.
"And Ashton? How's he doing? Nothing bad I hope." I said the last thing glaring at Noah. If anything happened to Ashton I'll seriously break his nose. No jokes.
"He'll be having a little head ache for the rest of the day but nothing worse. No real damage was done luckily. We still need him in the game Friday after all." I smiled at her before thanking her. I glared at Noah and didn't accidentally stepped on his toes when I went to get Ash up from the bed. I helped him up and put his arm around my shoulder supporting him while walking to the door. Noah already left and I was glad Ashton didn't have to see him."Please drive with me." Ashton said as we reached his car. "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning and than you can drive back on your bike."
"Why?" I asked curiously. The reason he gave me the motor was so I didn't have to drive with him anymore.
"I just don't want either of us to be alone. Not after this afternoon." I nodded and got into the car.
"On one condition." I said turning to him. He pulled up an eyebrow urging me to go on. "We're going to see my dad." I could feel the tears forming into my eyes and I swallowed because of the lump in my throat. Ashton grabbed my hand before intertwining our fingers. He brought my hand up to his lips and softly kissed the back of my hand. "It will all be alright princess. I'll stay with you all the way." I stretched to kiss his cheek before buckling up.
"Thank you Ashton."
"No not at all I'll always be there for you." He said.
"Always?" I asked.
"Always." He whispered. "Maybe always can be our always." He joked trying to lighten up the mood. I gave him a small smile before answering.
"Always will be our always."
He turned the key starting the engine before driving off to that hell of a place.
