So I have to admit, California was quit fun with my mom. I looked like a lobster the first two or three days because I got burned in the sun. But I'm actually not that pale anymore.
My mom got me new hair dye for Christmas. Normally she doesn't likes me dying my hair but I think she likes this color, it's purple. Tomorrow she's gonna help me dye it. I'm exited. It's the first time in a while we're doing something we agree on.
"It looks good in you Eliza." My mom said as I had blow dried my hair. We were standing in the small bathroom attached to our hotel room. It wasn't the most fancy place but it was enough for me and my mom. I looked in the mirror for the first time and yelped before turning around and hugging my mom.
"It's wonderful mom. Thank you." I heard her laugh as she pulled away slightly to look at me.
"How did you get so grown up? I remember the little girl in dresses, running around with her doll." She asked and I could see the tears in her eyes as she tried to hold them back.
"Because you thought me to be a big girl." I said. "And Internet helped a lot." I smiled and let go of her.
"I'm sad that this is our last day here." She said and I could see the truth in her eyes. This was a once in a lifetime experience that I know would be rare. No fight or anything, all of that would be different if we'd come home and I'd be with my friends again and Ashton. The happiness of being with my mom once had pressed him to the back of my mind where he stayed silent till I got to dream again. I just hope my mom and I can keep up with socializing and actually see each other some days.
"Come on Eliza we need to go." My mom said shaking me out of my thoughts. I looked up at her green eyes, that were so much alike mine. I didn't get my dads stunning blue ones but I got his hair color. That's also one of the reasons I started dying it. It reminded me to much of him and mom would have tears brimming in her eyes every time she lay her eyes on it. I didn't want that.

I woke up from someone shaking my shoulders. "Wake up baby. We're back." My mom whispered. I stretched, and not flattering like the people in commercials. I took my bags and walked with my mom to get our baggage and go to the hall. Our car would be outside.
I walked into the hall and was met with the sight of Ashton with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. He was still looking around the hall searching till his eyes met mine. I started running leaving my mother behind and dropped my bags before hugging Ash. "I missed you so much." He whispered as he snuggled his head further into my neck. "Never leave without telling me ever again." I hugged him tighter before letting go and looking behind me to see my mom. But not with a scowl like I expected but she was actually smiling a little.
"Mom, this is Ashton." I said still holding his hand. "Ashton this is my mom, Renee." I stood there in silence as they shook hands.
"Well Ashton now you're here anyway if like to invite you over for dinner tonight." I almost chocked on my breath and exploded in a coughing fit. When I was done I saw Ashton nod.
"Thank you Mrs. Young. I'll be there." My jaw dropped open when I heard it. Is this good or bad? Mom seems to give him a chance but he could easily mess it up by telling her about his old habits. I have to be scared now.
"Great than I'll, we'll see you tonight." My mom pushed my jaw shut and Ashton gave me the flowers before softly kissing my cheek, whispering: "Don't be afraid. I can be a good boy." He shook hands again with my mom and took off.

Omg, omg, omg. What can I wear? I hope Ashton got my text saying its a semi fancy dinner. I'd have to wear something near like. Maybe I still have the blouse my mom gave me last year; I told you this was the first time in years we got along.
I dug in my closet and yelped happily as I found what I was looking for. A black short sleeved blouse. I combined it with skinny jeans and walked downstairs to find my mom still in the clothes she wore that afternoon. "Mom." I said softly knocking on the door. She shook out of her thoughts and looked at me then at the clock. "I'll finish dinner and you go dress." I said taking over the spoon and pots. She caressed my cheek.
"You look beautiful, baby." She said before she walked out the door. I could hear her walk up the stairs and I looked at all the food. Help! I can't cook to save my life and now I have to cook for three people.
Luckily I saw a recipe laying on the counter top and started doing what it said. I sure hope I'm doing this right.

"It tastes wonderful mrs. Young." Ashton said as we sat at the table eating. The last minutes were spend in silence and I was glad Ashton tried to break the tension.
"Actually Elizabeth helped me." My mom said smiling at me proudly. Okay so I can cook better than I had anticipated.
"It's really good Eliza." Ashton said turning at me and smiling fondly. I started blushing at all the compliments and turned to my plate to continue eating. Ashton seemed less nervous than I was at the moment and I was happy for it. I just took a gulp of my water when my mom asked the dreaded question. "So Ashton, what are your intentions with my baby girl?" She asked making me almost spit out my water.
"I, uhm, I," he stuttered. "I just want her to be happy." He replied. I took his hand under the table and gave him a reassuring squeeze.
"Mom," I started knowing where the conversation was going.
"Are you having sex with my daughter?" She blurted out. O jeez. I spit out my drink and spilled the salt as I, again, had a coughing fit. I could see the heat rising to Ashton's cheeks showing that he couldn't lie his way out of here.
"Mom!" I exclaimed.
"What? I can ask those questions I'm your mom." She replied.
"No you definitely cannot. It's intruding." I said. Ashton's expression went from blushing to smirking as I defended him against my mom. Cheekily taking his turn to squeeze my hand. I swear to god I love my mom, but she was crossing the line. "Well if you have sex with my baby girl make sure you do it safe." She said casually taking a sip of her wine. I could feel the blood rise to my cheeks. "If you get her pregnant, I know how to chop of men's balls." My eye started to twitch from the stress my mom was giving me.
"I like your person mrs. Young." Ashton said grinning.
"Call me Renee."
