Chapter 7- Why are boys so difficult?

the next day at school, Jay was a little more protective of me. Especially Spencer. at lunch Spencer ran towards me. "Hey Forest!" He yelled slowing down " so...um I have something important to ask you" he thought for a second. "will you go out with me?". I looked at him shocked "uh...uh...I'm...well...sure" I stammered. Spencer smirked at Jay. Jay growled back. my face turned red " excuse me for a second, and Jay, do NOT misbehave." I warned. I ran to the ladies room to wash my face.all of a sudden I hear a loud crash coming from outside. I quickly dried my face with a towel and ran out of the bathroom. The whole cafeteria was in a circle and people were chanting "fight!fight!fight!"I pushed my way to the center and saw Jay on top of Spencer repeatedly punching him. Spencer was trying (and failing) to fight back. I stepped in the circle, the two boys froze and looked at me. It took all my will power not to rip them both to shreds. I grabbed both of them and led them out to the backfield,"nothing to see here just go back to eating" I told everyone gritting my teeth. The circle disbanded and people started mumbling about the first interesting thing all year. Once we got to the back I almost lost it "I told you to behave!" I yelled at Jay. " he started it!" He compliand pointing at spencer. "i don't care who started it! It was an unfair fight!" I paused " no offense spencer". "what?!" Spencer remarked " I could of totally taken him down", Jay took a step towards Spencer. "Please, guys, enough. You've had your fun,so go home" I said sternly at Spencer. "But-" he started. "Just tell him you got sick from the cafeteria food." I suggested. He hung his head and walked inside. "Pick me up at eight tomorrow," I whispered as he passed me, giving him a smile. When he was gone I turned to Jay. " so what really happened?" I asked. so Jay told me it was basically a fight over me. Part of me was happy but most of me was very very mad. "So your telling me, you a werewolf, got jealous cause a guy I've known longer than you asked me out?" I asked him. His mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. " just because you....almost kissed me doesn't mean I'm your girlfriend," I said storming off to my next class. Boys I thought so difficult!

At the end of the school day both boys apologized. "it's ok . I just hate seeing my friends fight." I told them. " see you tomorrow" Spencer said waving And walking back to his house. Jay and I walked back to the pack territory. As we were walking,it felt like we were being followed. I turned around and checked for the third time. " it's fine I think I would know if there was someone following us." He said reassuringly, " yeah" I agreed. But I still couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched.
