Chapter 16-

Cassidy's P.O.V
After Jay was taken, the man asked us if we were special. I was frozen, I couldn't say anything. "No," he said trying to sound brave but I saw him shaking. "Then you have no purpose," the man laughed evilly. All of a sudden we were let go. I didn't think I just ran, i heard Spencer behind me. At least i hope it was Spencer. I looked behind me and immediately regretted it. A pale man with fangs was following us. I kept running, knowing I was being chased by a vampire fueled me to go faster. Then I stopped it was quiet. Too quiet. Out if no where the vampires crash through the roof right in front of me. He came towards me with a predatory look in his eyes. I ran up and punched his jaw, he fell to the floor holding his jaw and smiling. "This is going to be fun." He said. He continued stalking me like a cat playing with a new toy. He ran towards me faster than I could react, within seconds he grabbed my chin and lifted me into the air. I tried to pry his hands off but he was too strong, he threw me at the wall. I didn't have time to scream, I felt myself hit the wall and all the air was knocked out of me. I shakily reached up and touched my head, I felt warm sticky blood in my hair. He sniffed the air and smiled, his eyes turned bright red. I screamed got up and ran. I did this for about thirty minutes, I would hide, he would find me, we would throw a couple punches, then I ran and hid again. This time when he hit right in the stomach I fell and didn't get up. I was to weak, he was too strong. He got down on his knees "you poor little weak human. Such a shame you were quite beautiful," he laughed. He leaned in and i felt his breath on my exposed neck. I closed my eyes and felt his fangs sink into my skin, it was like my whole body was burning from the inside out. Slowly I felt life leaving me. I suddenly felt the fangs leave, I opened my eyes weakly to see Spencer fighting the vampire, then I passed out.
Forest's P.O.V
Jay carried Spencer out if the building, I carried Cassidy. I felt empty, this guy I had barely know and went on a date with once, died on a rescue mission to save me. He sacraficed himself do Cassidy could live and what angered me most is that, his family will never know who really killed their son. I felt warm tears running down my face, at least Cassidy is alive, i thought trying to be optimistic. We walked from the building to my little place in the forest behind our school. I set down Cassidy, she was breathing, I checked her pulse I just barely felt it beating so softly. Jay put down Spencer and I lost. Tears streamed down my face. "It's ok, Forest, everything will be alright." Jay said with his adorable smile. But I couldn't get over the fact that Spencer was dead, "He's dead!" I sobbed "and she might as well be too! And it's all my fault....." "Cassidy is not dead, her breathing is going back to normal," he said confused. "When I felt the pulse on her wrist, you could barely feel her pulse..." I whispered, still crying. Suddenly his eyes widened, "we have to get her out of here away from everyone!" He shouted. "What? Why?" I asked, "my father, told my every form of creature that is still living, and when I was about 5 years old, I saw a man bite a woman, and I just sat watching curious. She collapsed and I thought she was dead, Suddenly she just woke up, and turned towards me. She ran at the speed of light. I couldn't run away, she grabbed my shirt her eyes were bright red and hungry. She leaned in to bite me but my father leaped out of nowhere and killed her." He told me. "Cassidy is turning into a vampire and when she fully turns she will need blood, so anyone with blood around her is basically dead." Cassidy was starting to stir, "ok let's go" I said.
