REVISED VERSION

Arietta's POV
///////////////////

When I saw the examiner here, and she saw me with the treasure, her face told me I had found a great treasure.

The boys finally got here, looking all worn down and scratched up.

"What happened?!" I called out to them, worried.

Neither one replied. I took that as a sign that they were going to be mute for a while. Instead of being angry, I pulled out a First-Aid kit and began to treat Jahan.

Green porcupine was being a brat again! He refused to let me treat his scratches, which were showing no signs of closing. So I turned away from him and started to help Pariston.

Unlike him, Pariston was being a sweet brother, letting me treat his wounds. We began to talk about our lives before the Exam while Jahan ignored us and sat isolated. I told him about mom's cooking skills, and he laughed, his eyes showed no emotion, but I couldn't analyze it so I gave up. Then I gave him a cookie that mother had baked.

"It's delicious!" He exclaimed after hesitantly taking a bite.

I smiled at my brother, who cheerfully finished the cookie quickly. Seriously, I had just met my own brother(that looks exactly like me) for the first time, and I'm 15 already. How is this possible? He's 12, and mom never mentioned a brother.

"Give me one." Jahan muttered quickly and rather rudely, holding out his hand expectantly.

Instead of giving him a cookie, I gave him my cold shoulder. Now this is where he reaches for a cookie and eats it before I can notice.

"Why should I listen to you, Jahan?"

"My name's NOT Jahan! It's Ging! Ging Freecs!" He shouted angrily.

"Uh-huh, sure... Jahan." I replied defiantly.

Soon afterwards, I heard him munching on something and I turn to him. He has cookie crumbs all over his face, and his cheeks are still stuffed.

I have irk marks growing into my head as he reaches for another without asking. So that's his way of asking for another cookie; not saying anything at all and taking it secretly.

By this time, I've smacked his hand back to himself. Apparently, it was pretty hard, or he had a scratch there, because he flinched. Either he was weak, or mom was actually right about me having extra strength.

Pariston was trying to stop me from running over him and kicking him until he died, but I wasn't planning on killing that green porcupine just yet...

Pariston's POV

//////////////

Geez, that girl... She falls for my fake kindness too easily! But what is this tug I feel deep inside? It's not like she even has proof that I'm kind! Or her brother either! Arietta Hill...

I'll tell dad about you soon enough. He will be likely to know about your mother and... My mystery sister. Is she even my sister at all? When she spoke about her mother I found no traces of lying, and she's too thick-skinned to actually lie to someone she's just met. Maybe I should call him now? Actually, I'll wait, because the examiner is explaining something.

Ging... I don't know if Arietta realized this yet, but... He has great power. It's definitely not equal to mine, though.

Even though he is much younger than us, he still has the power to beat Arietta, who also seems to have a similar level of strength.

I believe that out of the three of us, only Arietta doesn't understand Nen. She can learn about Nen from whoever, but it won't be me. By the Final Phase, well, I don't plan to be the nice guy by that time, whenever that is.

Arietta has to realize at some point that I'm not the nice person she makes me out to be. I'm considered a sly and dangerous rat by my father. And to me, he's a snake-one that could devour me at a moment's notice. He is much more powerful than me. I've known that since I was little. If she really is my sister, she probably won't survive past her sweet sixteen.

The examiner is about to leave. I better follow her quickly. By this time, Arietta was already dragging me over to the examiner, and I held my treasure in my satchel. Usually I don't wear satchels, or bags for that matter, but my father had forced it upon me with the thoughts of carrying my card and other items I might get after passing.

Noticing Ging eye us-no, more like me, I put my arm around Arietta's shoulder and smirked. He had already realized I was faking. How perceptive of him!

Ging's POV

////////////////

Pariston... That dude is something else. Ari-something, whatever she's called, I don't remember right now(it's probably pointless anyways). She fell for his sly words and cunning deceptions very easily. Perhaps she is strong, but she's a total ditz. Why are all blondes except Pariston idiots? Pariston is just a liar, but he's definitely not an idiot.

I wonder what he's got up his sleeve...

And no matter what, if he harms his sis-wait-why am I talking about her?

Anyways, if he harms anyone, in a lethal way, he will pay. It's obvious that he is stronger than me, but I still won't be letting him win a fight against me. If I can find his weakness and target that, I'd be able to win against him in a match, but he's very tricky.

For some reason, I feel bad for her.
