Ging slowly walked away, thinking about why she ever settled down. If he could ever do that... Nope, it won't happen. She sounded so mad about him dropping off Gon on the island. Why? Well, he could guess it's some sort of mother instinct or something.

His footsteps droned on as he thought about where he would be heading next.

-----

A smile graced Arietta's face as she turned back to the house, it was to be another peaceful day. Xelo wasn't awake yet, so she started upstairs to awake him.

She shook him gently, and her face was the first thing he saw as he opened his eyes. His face was sour at first, making his mother chuckle, but then it turned into a slight smile.

"Good dream?" Her voice sounded cheerful.

"I guess..." He muttered, sitting up and looking out his bedroom window.

It's definitely not a girl... So what is it about? Maybe him wanting to meet Kil? That's probably what it is.

"I'll make brunch now, so get changed and hurry down." She laughed and walked down the stairs, closing his door on the way out.

Her feet had only reached the kitchen when she noticed a letter on the table. Heart racing, her pace quickened and she seemed to rush to the table. The heartbeat she had been hearing so clearly had just stopped. It was from Killua.

'Dear Arietta,

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to meet you after these two years. My work is taking up my time and I can't stay for more than a few minutes. It looks like Xelo and Ko are doing good.

I saw that my brother was here. His Nen still lingers in our house. Who's that green haired guy?! You better not be cheating on me, Arietta!

I'm just kidding. Even I can tell that he's just a friend. Take care of the kids and wait for me, okay? I know you can wait one more week.

I promise I'll be back in a week, and I mean it. The Hunter's Association is taking good care of me, and I hope to be home even sooner.

Love,
Killua'

Her eyes filled to the brim with tears, and they nearly spilled onto the letter. She was just so happy! He'll be home soon!

Xelo's feet pounding on the floor above made her snap out of her trance. How long had she been like this? She needs to make brunch!

---

Xelo was very happy when he heard the news, and Ko had absolutely no idea, but started clapping and saying, "Daddy! Daddy!" Honestly, it was freaking adorable.

The brunch went well, and soon after, Arietta put Ko in her bed and called her babysitter. The lady said she would be there soon, and that Arietta and Xelo could leave now, but she didn't feel comfortable leaving Ko alone and stayed until she got there. She thanked her and led Xelo to the new training grounds.

It was a simple field in the middle of nowhere, with an occasional tree here and there. Flowers were scattered all over the ground, and it was like a rainbow fell and gave the flowers its colors.

They trained until dinner time, when she knew the babysitter would be leaving. Her eyes shone with pride as they walked home. Xelo was beginning to master everything. Of course, he took a little longer than some others, but he grasped the concepts much better by going at a slower pace.

They got home, and she kissed Ko on the forehead. She had been such a good girl, according to the young babysitter.

"Thanks Menchi!" Arietta waved as she left.

The next few days went on almost exactly the same, until the day after Killua was supposed to come home.

A letter arrived.
