Movie Night

Author's notes: hey guys. Been writing some pretty depressing and serious spitfire shit lately, haven't I? So I decided to post a happy upbeat chapter about Wally and Artemis before Invasion, since I kind of killed my friend @GreenArcheress after she read proposal part 1.

Arty pov:

"Movie night!" Megan runs into the kitchen squealing. Wally and I stop what we're doing and stare incredulously at her.

"M'gann, we're kind of busy right now." I sigh, motioning towards the stacks of papers Batman had given us earlier. He had told us to complete the school forms for next fall, so he could ship them of to the schools for us. Wally and I had of course decided upon attending college together, and signed up for a scholarship at the same school.

"Where's everyone else?" Megan asks, clearly disappointed. "Maybe they want to watch a movie?"

"Supey's in the back with Sphere," Wally explains. "Rob's probably hacking into stuff, and Zatanna's most likely near him. Kaldur is swimming at the beach with Rocket."

"Oh." Miss Martian's face falls. "Are you guys sure you don't want to watch the movie?"

Wally gives me a nervous look, as if to say: "Why not?"

I reluctantly agree. " We can always finish these tomorrow,"

Wally nods as he sets his scholarship form on the table. He grabs my hand as Megan squeals happily.

"Great! We're going to have so much fun! I'll ask the rest of the team." Megs smiles, and telepathically asks for everyone to report to the kitchen.

Everyone speeds in, looking alarmed.

"What is it?" Rob asks, out of breath.

"It's movie night, silly." Megan giggles. "We're all going to watch a movie."

"Not me," Conner frowns. "Sphere needs fixing up badly."

"I'm out too," Rocket says. "I'm working hard on battle techniques."

"Aw come ON, guys!" Megs whimpers. "Can't we all take a break for once? We're superheroes! We have to take a night of rest for once!"

"It would be good for us all," Kaldur agrees calmly. "Good thinking, M'gann."

"Whatever," Rocket shrugs. "If Kaldur's in, I'll watch the movie."

Kaldur's gives her a confused look and she smirks at him.

"What's the movie?" Conner asks reluctantly.

"I don't know yet," M'gann giggles. "We're going to have to pick it out."

"Fine," Rob sighs, and begins to walk away. Zatanna grabs his hand and smiles awkwardly. He blushes bright red, and we all walk out to the movie room. Wally speeds right in, letting go of my hand, and immediately collapses on the recliner. He moves over and pats the spot next to him as everyone sits down. I grin and sit down next to him, cuddling up against his warm body. He puts his arm around me gently and kisses my forehead. God, I loved him.

M'gann floats in and opens the DVD cabinet. She searches thoughtfully through the many DVDs.

"Okay, guys, what do you want to watch?" She asks.
