A soft jingle comes from Wally's phone. It's late, past midnight. Wally was pulling an all-nighter for school doing physics. Artemis had wanted to stay up with him, but he had sent her to bed early. Wally gets up off the couch, setting down his physics notes, and grabs his phone off the counter.
Dick was calling him through FaceTime. Wally slides his finger across the screen to unlock it, and Dick's energetic face shows up on the screen.
"Hey, I didn't think you were up." Dick smiles lopsidedly, his blue eyes for once visible to the world.
"Why were you calling me then?" Wally asks irritably, yawning.
"I dunno," Dick shrugs. "What's up?"
"Physics," Wally groans, rubbing his eyes tiredly. "I have a big report due tomorrow and I'm not sure if I can survive the whole night."
"Where's Artemis?" Dick asks, peering around the room. "Doesn't she usually stay up with you?"
"Yes, but I sent her to bed. She's already done with her report."
"Then why doesn't she help you?" Dick frowns.
"It's physics, dude. I'm Kid Flash, science prodigy, remember? She's the one who normally needs MY help." Wally snorts.
"Dude, you need to go to bed now. You look exhausted." Dick advises.
"Nah," Wally yawns, stretching. "Artemis usually hogs the bed."
"Aw, you guys share a bed now?" Dick laughs, and Wally flushes bright red.
"Shut up!" Wally says, his face beet red, his jaw sticking out testily. "At least I have a girlfriend who'll sleep with me. You never got that far yet,"
"You sleep with her?" Dick's eyebrows raise suspiciously.
"That's not what I meant!" Wally howls. "Shut up, Dick!"
Dick continues cackling evilly as Artemis wakes up from all the yelling and laughing.
"Urgh- who are you talking to, Wally?" She moans, wiping sleep out of her eyes. Wally whips around and sees her standing in her plaid pajama bottoms and his yellow sweatshirt he gave to her.
"Oh, sorry I woke you. It's just Di- Robin." Wally corrects himself. Artemis still didn't know Rob's secret identity.
Artemis peers over Wally's shoulder, looking at his screen. "Oh my god..." She gasps, covering her mouth.
"What?" Wally frowns, looking from the screen to Artemis' stunned face.
"Dick Grayson is Robin?!" Artemis asks incredulously.
Dick's face goes white as a sheet, and he hastily fumbles for his sunglasses. He puts them on. "That's better."
"You know him?" Wally stutters. "How?"
"I went to Gotham academy, remember, Baywatch?" Artemis explains. "He was that nerdy mathlete kid who always hung out with Barbara Gordon."
"Hey!" Dick exclaims. "Was I really THAT nerdy?"
"Well, you slicked your hair back, and constantly annoyed the English teacher with your new words." Artemis rolls her eyes.
"Whatever," Dick frowns sourly as Wally laughs. "Batman's going to blow a fuse when he hears that you know my secret identity."
"Cool it, Dick." Wally advises. "Bats respects Arty. If he didn't flip out when you told me, I doubt he's going to care that Artemis knows."
"Yeah, you're right," Dick smiles lopsidedly.
"I still can't believe you guys haven't told me before now." Artemis remarks.
"Arty, it's not that we didn't trust you, it's just- we didn't know if we should. You didn't really care, did you?" Wally sighs.
"No, I cared. I'm not mad or anything, but I don't want you guys to keep secrets from me." Artemis purses her lips, and Wally grabs her waist, pulling her closer to him. Robin gags.
"Do you guys really have to do that in front of me?" He asks. Artemis laughs.
"No secrets, Dickie." Wally wags a finger at him. "Too bad." Rob scowls and disconnects. Wally grabs Artemis bridal-style, carrying her to bed.
