Artemis is cleaning up after dinner when Wally gets home. She places her hands on her hips and narrows her eyes, smiling.

"'Bout time, Wallace West." She grins, eyes sparkling. "How come you're so late? I had to eat without you, and on Taco night nonetheless."

Wally remains silent as he collapses on the couch and begins to rummage through his backpack.

"What's wrong?" Artemis' smile fades away as she hurries over to him and grabs his arm protectively. "Wally?"

Wally curses under his breath as he continues to dig through his bag.

"What are you looking for?" Artemis asks, reaching into his bag, but he just slaps her hand away.

"One second! I'll find it!" Wally snaps, and Artemis' concerned face turns into a frustrated, annoyed one. Wally winces at her glare and softly kisses her on the lips. "Sorry, babe."

Artemis looks relieved. "Why can't I help?" She asks.

"'Cause you can't see it yet." Wally explains, digging through the bag.

"What's this?" Artemis questions curiously, pulling out a small black box from his backpack. She opens it and gasps. "Wally..."

"Oh- shit." Wally curses. "That's what I was looking for." He grabs it away from her and gets down on one knee. "Artemis Lian Crock, will you marry me?"

"I-I-I... Wally..." Artemis stammers, blushing like mad.

"Artemis, I love you with all my heart, and I can't think of anyone else to spend the rest of my life with." Wally smiles sweetly, clasping her trembling hand in his. "You're my little spitfire."

"W-Wally..." Artemis frowns, a tear spilling over her cheek. "I'm sorry..."

"What do you mean?" Wally's eyes widen in horror. No... No, this couldn't be happening.

"No. I can't marry you." Artemis tells him firmly, grabs her coat and leaves.
