It was already February 2017, and it had been a year since Mirabel and Enrique each came to Butterfly Bay—and they were still a happy couple. They got to know each other very well, and since Valentine's Day was coming up, Enrique thought it was a great time to do something very special for Mirabel.

It was February 10th, and Mirabel was just getting out of work.

"Wow, Mirabel, your Valentine designs are a lot prettier than last year's," Leah remarked.

"Gracias, Leah," Mirabel smiled. "I can't believe they sold out faster than the ones from last year."

"Well, who wouldn't want a Valentine designed by Butterfly Bay's best graphic designer?" Rochelle asked.

"So, how's Enrique?" Riley asked.

"He's great," Mirabel smiled. "We're planning on going to the Valentine's Day dance at the community center with our families this year."

"Do you think he'll propose?" Rochelle asked.

Mirabel blushed. "I don't know," she smiled. "I mean, he's a great guy, and I want to marry him—but we've only been dating for 11 months, and I don't know if he wants that, too."

But Mirabel didn't know that Enrique really did want that. That evening, he and Felix went out to the mall to go shopping for clothes to wear at the dance—and Enrique was in a jewelry store, looking for an engagement ring. But he wasn't satisfied with any of them.

"Anything you think will be great for Mirabel?" Felix asked.

"Ugh, all these rings are beautiful, but they're too perfect," Enrique huffed. "The ring I give her should define who she is, imperfect but beautiful and loveable."

"I don't suppose you'd be interested in this," an employee said. He took out a little box and opened it to reveal a ring with a purple amethyst and pink diamonds around it in two different colors. "This ring is inspired by Rapunzel from Disney's Tangled."

"I'll take it," Enrique smiled. He paid for the ring, and now he was all ready for Valentine's Day.

The weekend went by, and so did Monday. Now it was Tuesday, February 14th, Valentine's Day. Mirabel and her family showed up at the community center, and so did Enrique and his family.

"Hola, todos," Rosa smiled.

"Hola," Señora Loya smiled back.

Mirabel and Enrique shared a big hug, and they were both excited for this dance. Enrique then took out a wrapped package and handed it to Mirabel, who removed the paper and ribbon to find a box, inside which was a heart-shaped silver locket. Mirabel took the locket out and opened it to find a picture of herself and Enrique on Valentine's Day last year.

"Oh, gracias, cariño," Mirabel gushed.

"De nada," Enrique smiled, putting the locket on Mirabel.

Mirabel and Enrique shared a kiss, and they and their families entered the building, ready to start. But there was something that Mirabel didn't know.

Gabe and Noemi were vacationing in Butterfly Bay for their anniversary this week, and Lorelei, Beth, Robin, and Celeste were hanging with them. Apparently, nobody was satisfied with this new town.

"Butterfly Bay is so drab," Lorelei sniffed. "There are no super tall buildings or bright lights."

"And why do they even call this place 'Butterfly Bay' when there are no butterflies?" Gabe asked. "What makes this place so special anyway?"
