6 - Sharing a Bed (II)

"So Jin and I are going to sleep in the same bed?" asks Yoongi to the threesome of Jin, Jimin and himself.

"That's my decision, isn't it, I was ahead of you!" Jin responds outraged.

Jimin prefers not to think about which bed Yoongi would sleep in and walks back into the room – followed by the other two.

"But wasn't it Jimin's turn before yours? I'm sure he wants to sleep alone," Yoongi defends his suggestion.

"So what? But it's my turn after Jimin and I'll simply decide to sleep in Jimin's bed," the oldest of the group announces, causing Jimin to gently slap his shoulder and complain.

"Don't do this to me, hyung!"

"It's a double bed anyway," Jin replies, accompanied by his famous windshield wiper laugh.

What no one knows is that Jin is just trying to do his little dongsaeng a favor. He has noticed how uncomfortable Yoongi's presence is for Jimin. He just wants to protect him from an awkward situation.

Eventually, they decide to divide the beds using a modified form of rock-paper-scissors.

"On the count of three, everyone just shows which bed they choose with their fingers. One finger is the bed by the door, two fingers is the bed in the back," Jimin suggests.

"One, two, three," they say in unison.

Jin screams and laughs; he was the only one who picked the first bed. Jimin and Yoongi both hold up two fingers. They will have to share the bed in the back. Jimin can't hide his sudden embarrassment. Afraid that it will be written on his face like a billboard, he quickly leaves the room with his head down.

"What, who's sharing the bed now?" asks Hobi, who assumes from Jin's loud laughter that the three of them have finally come to an agreement. Actually, he doesn't care, he just wants it to be settled before the yelling starts in the evening.

"Jimin and I will share a bed," Yoongi replies and disappears into the bathroom.

Dazed, Jimin walks down the stairs on his way to the kitchen. When he meets Namjoon by the stairs in the living room, the bandleader just smiles and repeats,

"So Yoongi and Jimin sleep in the same bed".

Namjoon has also noticed the tension between Jimin and Yoongi and hopes that it won't get worse once they share a bed – but he would rather not show his concern.

Jimin's stomach clenches. And yet, his embarrassed smile just won't go away. Namjoon must have seen it because Jimin believes that the elder winked at him.

Jimin tries to distract himself with a glass of cold water from the kitchen as the ringing in his ears gets louder and louder.

"Are you coming with us to get the suitcases?" asks Jungkook, who has just entered the kitchen, to which Jimin exclaims much too enthusiastically and loudly, "Yeah sure, let's get them!"

Jimin's face turns red as he notices how perplexed Jungkook looks at him, trying to interpret what exactly is going on in Jimin's face. Jungkook finally gives up and sighs, "Let's go then, Namjoon's coming too."

Meanwhile, Jimin is unaware that Yoongi's chest feels like it's going to burst. He's afraid that Jin, who is busy exploring the room, might hear his loud heartbeat and get suspicious. Yoongi himself is astonished at how casually he was able to announce that Jimin would be sleeping in the same bed with him.

In fact, he is surprised that Jimin doesn't seem to see anything special in it, after all, he just walked down the stairs as if this information wasn't worth thinking about. Doubts arise in Yoongi's mind.
