A loud bell rang out, breaking the silence in the ballroom. I had been found out by the vampires and they were all watching me. Azra had managed to get Cole and Caleb to the ballroom doors, ushering them out of the ballroom. I was standing in the middle of a crowd of vampires with Michael holding firmly to my arm and Delphine directly behind me.

They had just given me the news that my children were dead. I could feel anguish rising through me as well as a burning desire to murder Delphine and all the vampire council members here aside from Azra. As if it could feel my anger, anguish, and desire for revenge, I felt my tiger form beginning to move. I also felt like my veins were turning to fire as I stood there.

"I want proof." I snarled as I took off the mask, tossing it aside.

Delphine raised her hands and snapped her fingers. A few servants entered the room and walked over to us with two bags. Delphine opened the bags and revealed skulls of what looked like one year old children. I fell to my knees and stared at the ground. They were gone. Amy and Melody were gone.

I let out a scream of anguish and despair at the loss of my daughters as tears rolled down my cheeks. Michael released my hand and stepped away from me while Delphine stepped towards me. She lifted my face, forcing me to look at her.

"I'll help you reunite with them." Delphine said with a smile before releasing my head.

I watched her servants drop the bags of my children's bones and their skulls roll to me. I reached out and quickly put their bones back into the bags. I had to get their bodies out of here and give them a proper burial instead of letting the vampires continue to make a mockery of their corpses.

Anger overtook my anguish and despair, and I pulled the bags to me. I quickly slung the bags over my shoulder and tied them together. I heard the sword being drawn and barely moved my body out of the way in time. The sword slashed through my dress, and I glared up at Delphine. Then a thought overtook me. My blood was able to kill them.

I grinned and pressed my forearm against the sword, grimacing as my arm was cut. I stood, dripping my scarlet blood onto the polished floor, and reached out for Delphine's arm. She tried to pull her sword free, but I grabbed her wrist before she could. I yanked her towards me and slammed my forearm against her lips. I watched as her crimson eyes widened and my blood dripped down my forearm as well as her chin.

Pulling my arm away, I yanked her sword out of her hold as she fell to her knees, holding her throat. I then turned to face Michael raising the sword that had my blood on it. It was a different weight to my sword and was definitely a lot lighter. Michael's eyes focused on Delphine as she fell to the ground the rest of the way and screams rang out around me. His eyes widened and he turned and fled into the crowd.

"Come back here coward!" I shouted, my voice echoing through the ballroom.

Michael didn't come back, but Ophelius rushed at me. He grabbed my wrist and pushed my injured arm against my back. I glanced over my shoulder and went to kick him, but he trapped my leg with his knees. He pushed my arm further up my back, causing a wave of pain to roll through me.

"Let go of April!" Caleb's voice echoed.

I turned to see Caleb rushing towards the crowd while Cole stood by the door with shock on his face. Caleb swung a punch at Ophelius, and I felt Ophelius's hold weaken on my arm. I yanked my arm free and jabbed Delphine's sword into his foot. Ophelius screamed in pain as the other vampires stood there watching in shock and fear. Caleb lifted me up without hesitation and took off running for the door.

I watched over Caleb's shoulder as Ophelius pulled the sword out of his foot but didn't begin to foam at the mouth. The door was slammed shut and Cole was suddenly behind Caleb. Cole took the bags from me, slinging them over his shoulder as we ran down the main hall.
