"I...Um, he-" Y/n tried to explain but nothing came out.
"I can explain -" San walked to them and spoke.
As if God heard Y/n's prayer. Seonghwa got an urgent call. He sighed and picked it up.
"What?" He said coldly.
"We have him now. You should come quickly" Hongjoong said from the other line.
"Put him in the basement and make him speak up" Seonghwa ordered.
"We already did but there's a problem. You should come quickly" Hongjoong insisted and he sighed again, giving up.
"Alright, I'll be there in a few" He said the hung up.
"You two will explain this later. I'm leaving now" Seonghwa pointed at the two and he seemed mad. He was moody and Y/n was surprised by how quickly his mood changed.
"Yeah..." San rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
Seonghwa left, not even giving one last glance to Y/n. She felt kinda hurt by his behavior but she had to focus on other things, like San in front of her who seemed to betray them and work with their enemy.
She glared at him and he did the same. He crossed his arms against his chest and raised an eyebrow.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I'm the one who should be asking you" She imitated his actions and crossed her arms under her breasts.
"So you're here trying to get inside his pants, huh?" He smirked.
"W-what! No! I wasn't" She scoffed, feeling offended.
"Then what?" He kept his smirking face.
"It was my mission. And what about you? What business do you have here with him?" Y/n sighed, not knowing how they were going to clear things up.
"Let's make a deal here" He said while walking closer to her and towering over her small figure. She raised an eyebrow.
"I help you with Seonghwa and you shut up about me and promise to not tell Ravi?" He said and she frowned.
"What? That doesn't make any sense?" Y/n shook her head, not agreeing with him.
How could he tell her this after getting caught working for the enemy. She remembered that day when she looked over his phone and finding that he had received a message from Seonghwa. Her doubts were confirmed when San showed up moments ago and calling the Seonghwa 'hyung'.
Seonghwa's POV
Can the day get any better.
I looked at the bruised old man sitting on the chair, tied up. Hongjoong took his dirty apron off and sighed. Obviously he was tired of torturing the man and getting nothing in return.
"He's a tough one. Torture alone won't do it" Hongjoong sighed, feeling exhausted already.
"Then kill him. We don't have time for this shit" I said, not caring about anything at all.
"If we kill him, we won't get any answers" Hongjoong refused as he started thinking of other ways.
"A closed mouth or a dead mouth is the same. So fuck it" I shrugged and pulled the trigger. The bullet went right through the man's head.
Y/n's POV
What the hell did I get myself into!
I couldn't think of anything at that point. My head was hurting like a bitch so I took a pill and gulped a glass full of water after it. I changed my clothes to a comfortable one and decided to sleep.
Just when I started dozing off, my peace was destroyed by my phone ringing loudly. I mentally face palmed myself for not shutting it off or putting it on silence mode.
I grabbed my phone and picked up without checking the ID.
"Hello?" I said in a sleepy voice.
"Get your fucking ass right in my office and right now" Ravi spoke with a harsh tone. That's it. I'm fucked up. I thought.
San POV
"What a bad day" I mumbled as I fiddled with my fingers and shook my knees up and down nervously. Seonghwa was going to kill me. I thought back and forth about whether I should lie or not.
"Glad you didn't run this time. I hope that you know you messed up" Seonghwa walked in the living room. He had called earlier, notifying me to stay at his place.
I regretted getting myself in this kind of business. I could just finished my studies or did something else. I started getting sick of everything.
"Seonghwa, I'm sorry. I know I fucked up not only messed up. But, let me explain. Everything is fine for now. Y/n is just an innocent girl who works for the bar owned by Ravi, that's all. And if you're wondering how I know her...well, we drank once and I got to know her...so, yeah" I lied again. I fucking lied for the sake of mine and her life. I scratched the back of my neck, feeling embarrassed.
I had good reasons for lying about the matter. I couldn't just put myself and y/n's life in trouble, so I came up with a good deal. I couldn't let myself get exposed for working under Ateez and spying at Wonshik at the same time and I couldn't just ruin her moment with him or whatever they had going in between them.
I cared less for being selfish. I had to.
Seonghwa's POV
I listened to San as he explained and didn't say anything. He finished and looked back at me. The whole time he was talking, he avoided making eye contact with me. He was obviously lying but I wasn't going to expose him and get him punished right away. Just not yet.
I excused him and he left immediately. I sighed and thought about an explainable reason of why would he lie. I needed to hear from y/n too, just to confirm and clear any suspension about her.
I took a quick shower and slept immediately after.
"I hope I'm making the right decision" I whispered to myself before closing my eyes and letting my dreams consume me.
