After Rei congratulated Blaise on doing well and Evelyn congratulated him on earning the honor of Rei calling him by his actual name, the group decided to stay at the clearing for the night. They had looked over the map and determined that there weren't any towns they could make it to before nightfall and that they had made it far enough in their 4 hours of walking that day. When they woke up the next morning, the sun had just risen and it only took them a little under half an hour to take down their tents and get moving. They did spend the other half of their first hour of the day trying to get back on the trail since they had wandered quite a ways off the path while Rei was blindly following the sound of the river.
Once they were back on the road, they didn't run into any difficulties during the day. They stopped in a tiny market town for lunch, the boy who served them their meal reminded Rei of the water mage from Lotus. She had harassed him into telling her his magic and excitedly made the comment that he was like a male version of the water mage from Lotus and was then told off for calling her 'the water girl in Lotus' instead of her name.
After eating, they walked down the dirt road for an hour before Rei noticed something, "I think it's gonna storm pretty soon."
"Is that you warning us that you're about to summon a storm?" Evelyn questioned.
"No, of course not," Rei retorted, earning a look from Evelyn. "Look at the sky, it's super cloudy. And I can feel the storm, it's in the direction we're going."
"You can sense storms?" Blaise asked.
Rei shrugged, "Sort of. I can smell it and I guess it is sort of like a sixth sense. The people in Lotus made me promise to tell them whenever a storm was coming so they could prepare for it. It was the first job they gave me after they processed the fact that I'm a storm dragon slayer."
"So we'll be walking through rain pretty soon," Sky stated, trying to refocus the conversation before they got too off track.
"You must be excited about that," Evelyn said to Rei in an annoyed tone.
"There's nothing wrong with the rain. The rain is great." Rei countered, rolling her eyes at Evelyn's tone. "And if we have to walk through a storm, it's not that big of a deal. I think stormy weather is the best weather anyways."
"Well, it's not great for traveling," Blaise replied, looking up at the gray sky. "You may be fine walking through storms, but I'm not too fond of that idea."
"What, are you scared of a little rain?" Rei questioned with a teasing smirk.
Blaise huffed, "No, but I don't want my clothes and stuff to get soaked."
"The rain puts out fire, so Blaise will probably have no energy when it starts raining," Evelyn teased, Blaise rolling his eyes in response.
"I don't think you like the idea of walking through a storm either, Evelyn," Sky said. "The only one who wants to do that is Rei. So obviously we're going to get to the next town and stay there until the storm passes, or at least lightens up."
"You guys are so boring," Rei grumbled. "The storm doesn't seem like it's gonna be that bad anyway. Well, maybe it'll be a bit bad, but not really."
"So it's going to be a terrible storm," Sky translated to Blaise, Evelyn nodding in agreement.
Rei let out a frustrated sigh, "Whatever. Be scared of a little bit of rain and thunder like whimps, I don't care."
"You really wanna sleep in pouring rain and lightning?" Blaise questioned giving her a look.
"I normally sleep better during a storm," Rei replied matter-of-factly.
"Don't try to reason with her," Evelyn advised. "She'll never listen, but she'll deal with staying the night in a village instead of a storm."
