Chapter 19

third person

" NO!!! "

Haneul yelled as she saw a zombie jump at Jiwon and threw both of them across the room.

" JIWON! " Haneul ran to Jiwon, while the others bought them some time trying to prevent the other zombies from going to them. Jiwon was screaming and crying, but by the time Haneul got to Jiwon, Haneul kicked the zombie away and killed it, Haneul calmed down and gasped for air.

" H-Haneul... " Jiwon called to her. She turned around to meet Jiwon's fearful eyes. Haneul's heart sank.

" No. No... No, You'll live, I won't let you die, let's just fight okay? " Haneul said, tears forming in her eyes. Jiwon shook her head but Haneul ignored it and dragged Jiwon to the storage room. They got back to the others, who were trying their best to keep the zombies away.

" Get in! Get in! " Jinyoung yelled and all of them succeed on getting in. " We're safe. We're safe. " Sunoo's mumbling were heard all over the room.
But then it was replaced with Haneul's sobs. Everyone turned their eyes to the girls who were sitting at the corner.

" J-Jiwon. No... " Hyewon's voice cracked.
All of them stared at Jiwon's leg that had a bite mark. The bite was deep, cause blood wouldn't stop pouring out of it.

" Jiwon, look at me. Look at me. " Haneul grabbed Jiwon's cheek and stared at Jiwon's eyes that was staring to go blood red.

" I can't handle it, Haneul, I'm dead, I'll die. " Jiwon sobbed. Haneul cried, the others were broken looking at the two girls crying.

" We have to do something guys. " Haneul looked back at them, but they gave a look that meant bad. They knew Jiwon will die, and there was no avoiding it.

" W-We can cut it off, you know... Like in the movies, it a way to survive. " Haneul forced the words out of her mouth, but Jiwon shook her head.

" it's already in my brain, I'll turn any minute now, Kill me. KILL ME! " Jiwon yelled.

" NO! STOP IT! WE PROMISED TO HAVE EACH OTHER'S BACK! I CAN'T LET YOU DIE! " Haneul yelled back.

" BUT I'M ALREADY DEAD! " Jiwon yelled louder that made everyone quiet, zombies were starting to bang on the door because of the noise and the others tried to hold it, to prevent a zombie from breaking in.

" Guys, please lower your voice. " Jake, who was also holding the door, spoke up.

" Haneul... Please do it for me... Let me walk out the door. Before I could harm anyone here. " Jiwon said, tears running down her face. But Haneul stayed quiet.

" I'm dying Haneul, I don't wanna die. " Jiwon sobbed. " I never wanted to die, I'm scared to die, I don't wanna leave. " Jiwon cried.

" But I'm dying, and all of us need to accept it. You'll survive, Haneul. I know you will, you're gonna beat this, you'll be the one who survives. "
Jiwon hugged Haneul and Haneul hugged back, sobbing.

Then Jiwon started to groan and mumble.
" let me go. Let me go! " Jiwon pushed Haneul away and stood up. She pushed the others that were holding the door close and turned around one last time.

" until we meet again, fellos, you'll survive. Y'all are strong. " Jiwon said, before opening the door and pushing the zombies away to prevent them for entering the door.

" NO! JIWON! " Haneul yelled and tried to get out of the room, but Sunoo prevented her from going. As the door was closing, Haneul caught a glimpse of the outside, Jiwon was fighting the zombies, she tried. But she still didn't survive.
