"Gosh, Asiya. What did you put in this?" Yusuf huffed playfully as he hoisted Asiya's suitcase up the staircase.

"I've not added anything to my case since we arrived! You carried it fine through the airport."

Yusuf clenched his teeth, braced his back like he was about to do a power lift, and lifted the suitcase up another dusty step. "The airport had escalators, lifts, and air conditioning."

"Alas," Asiya let out a fake sob, "It's all coming out now. Your strength was a lie."

Yusuf laughed and lifted her suitcase over another step. "It's this heat. It's basically kryptonite."

Asiya copied Yusuf's movements and hummed in agreement. Turkiye was humid, and the tight cave enclosure they were walking up made them feel like they were trapped in the belly of the heat. Asiya's underarms felt slimy, and her hijab was stuck to her neck like a wet cloth.

"Is this our room?" Yusuf panted as he heaved Asiya's case onto the slim ledge.

"InshAllah. It's the only door here," Asiya replied.

Yusuf used Asiya's suitcase to push open the door.

Asiya wheeled Yusuf's case into the room, nearly moaning when cold air kissed her cheeks in a greeting.

They had been in Turkiye for almost two weeks and had explored four cities. Cappadocia would be the second to last one they stayed in before they returned home.

The cave hotel they were staying in was located at the highest point of Goreme.

Yusuf shut and locked their door, and Asiya darted around the room like a ping-pong ball. The room had sand-coloured floors, sharp edges and traditional wooden furniture. It also gave them unobstructed views of the sun's patterns.

"Okay. The steps were worth it," Yusuf exhaled as he walked towards the window.

"Definitely. It kind of looks like the sky is suffering from a breakout," Asiya giggled as she pointed at the sky that was spotted with colourful hot air balloons.

"I've never seen a jacuzzi in the middle of a bedroom," Asiya said.

"Neither have I. It'd be nice to go in," Yusuf said.

Asiya mentally counted the jets. "I guess it's basically a free massage," she said.

"Okay, so let's change and go in together," Yusuf suggested.

"Together?" Asiya spluttered.

She had burkinis in her case, but those free swimsuits became shapewear once she left the water. Would it be weird if she wore one? They weren't in public, and they were married. Yusuf had the privilege of seeing what Asiya's clothing kept private.

"Of course," Yusuf smiled. "Unless you don't want to?"

"I do...I'll just need to shower first," she said, her voice cracking slightly.

Yusuf jumped onto the bed. "How long do you think you'll be?"

"I don't know. I may take a while," Asiya said.

Yusuf pressed the side of his face into a pillow. "I'll wait," he said before flashing Asiya a temperature raising smile.
