The Time Agents

Chapter 3

The computer room was a large room filled with servers flashing in all directions. In the center, the computer is placed on a large desk with several cables connected all around it. Its imposing size of several meters high made it almost touch the ceiling. The room was of course empty, few people have access to this computer. It was named Apollo by its builders the Brahmas brothers. This computer had access to all the information and files that the UN had. Lena went to the computer and activated it with her personal code. Suddenly, a robotic voice rang out.

"Hello Agent Lena, how can I help you?

- Give me the files with a specific search: "Famous person who had an impact on the world", in the second characteristic "existence that caused the fall or a negative impact on a country".In a few minutes the computer shows him all the files concerned. Several thousand documents appeared on Apollo's screen. Dimitrov glanced at the screen skeptically. Miyu was standing right behind him, lost in thought. Lena downloaded the files to her USB stick and then turned to her colleagues.

"Well, how are we going to sort the files?

- We have to search logically, but it will take us too long. explained Dimitrov.- We should start with the people who have had the most impact. We should also think that this might be something that for us might seem useful.

Dimitrov walked over to Apollo and asked him to sort the files in order of historical importance. Several people appeared, such as Samuel Colt, Robert Proctor and Adolf Hitler. Miyu walked over to the computer and asked it to remove from the list the people who had no direct impact on a country. This helped to narrow the list down a bit, but the agents knew they had to move quickly. As usual, the day always passes too quickly for the agents' tastes and they decided to stay in Dimitrov's apartment, which was the closest to the building. Night had just fallen when the three agents entered Dimitrov's apartment with their evening meal. It was a large apartment overlooking the main avenue in front of the company building. The three agents sat down around the table and began to eat. Lena took out her computer, put it on the table and plugged in her USB stick. The files came up and they began to do their research. After several hours glued to the files, Miyu was the first to go to sleep, exhausted by the long day. Dimitrov opened the door to his balcony and took out a cigarette and started to smoke. The night seemed quiet, just the sound of the wind and the city a little further away.

"I don't know how we're going to find our future victim. Lena complained

- You are right, there are so many possibilities. How can we do that?" replied Dimitrov.- The victim could be a politician or a scientist, there are so many possibilities. We have to find out what country Mr. X is from. He said that his country had fallen or been destroyed

- Maybe it is not in the direct sense- So the country still exists today but must have suffered a loss or devastation.

After saying this, Lena looked at the files. Dimitrov finished his cigarette and decided to go to sleep. Lena was too stressed to go to sleep. Her brain was cogitating and trying to solve this mystery. Was it a politician? At first she thought of a dictator like Adolf Hitler. Dictator of Nazi Germany and who cost the lives of millions of people all over Europe. He invaded many countries like Poland, the Netherlands or France. Did anyone in their own country want to take revenge for the dictator and his crimes? It is true that France suffered a lot during the war. However, the price of the client would have been much higher if he wanted to kill the dictator who was very protected at the time. This is the case for other dictators like Stalin for example. Lena also decided to succumb to the power of sleep after turning off her computer.
