Dimitrov offered her a cigarette but Lena refused. She had promised herself she would never start smoking. The laughter and music of the bar sounded behind them, slightly masked by the surrounding noise. The silence was mastered for a few minutes before it was broken by Lena.
"I'm afraid Dimitrov.
Dimitrov turned his gaze towards her, a little surprised.
- Of what?
- Of this mission, I'm afraid we'll make the wrong choices. That we'll have an irreversible impact on our history.
Dimitrov's silence was pensive for a few seconds, lost in thought, then answered her.
"This is what we do every day, just the fact that time travel is a risk in itself.
- It is a great invention but also dangerous, a child's dream as Dr. Callard says." Explained Lena
The night answered her by a big gust of wind. Fortunately in this month of May the nights were not cold anymore. Despite this, a shiver invaded Lena, this shiver that we can't get rid of. The one that even if everything seems to be going well, gives an impression of near danger. Finally Dimitrov threw away his cigarette and went inside with Lena.
The bar was now full, with light jazz music playing in the background and laughter and chatter filling the room. The night went on without a hitch. After a few hours, the agents decided to go home. As they left the bar, Yumi's face was imprinted with a big smile and she had a little bit of paper in her hand with a phone number and a name written on it: Lucie.
When Lena pushed open the door to her apartment, a feeling of happiness came over her. Too many times she had to sleep at work. The apartment had a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. The joy of finding the softness of her bed and in a few minutes she had already fallen asleep.
An unpleasant noise was heard repeating itself in a loop, as always it was this wonderful alarm clock that pulled Lena away from the world of sleep. Throwing a coffee, she turned on the radio.
"Good morning to all! It is 7 am and this day of May 14, 2034 looks like a beautiful day with a beautiful blue sky without any clouds. However great news! An anonymous source has denounced the TimeTravel company, which, it seems, is hiding a case of temporal terrorism.
How is that possible? Lena reached for her phone and her face broke down at the news. Many media are talking about this affair that was supposed to remain secret. A message from James appeared on her phone and her heart sped up, she could feel the panic rising inside her as she read the message.
