You got in.
Finally. After all this time.
You got in and after carefully examining you for any bites or dangerous diseases, performing a few tests to see if you aren't crazy... they let you in.
And then you collapsed from exhaustion.
You weren't sure how long it was since you've gotten to the place, but when you got awoken, bright light flashed into your eyes and you shut them tightly again.
"Hi, I see you woke up," a voice said from somewhere around you. Near you, appearing to come closer by the thump of his footsteps. "Can you hear me?"
You forced your eyes to open again to make out the source of the commotion, to look at the person the voice belonged to. A man, young and presumably not much older than you, with snow white hair and identically white coat of a doctor's was standing next to you, who were laying down on a soft comfortable bed. He was smiling at you gently.
You nodded your head at him, wide awake and freshened up from the slumber and started to get up, leaning on your hands on each side of the bed for support.
The young man's hands pushed you back down. "No, no, you need to rest."
"How long was I sleeping for?" you managed to let out through your dry throat.
"Only a day. But you looked pretty tired when you came, you should sleep some more." He gazed at you with his deep dark orbs and his smile widened the slightest bit, just allowing you to catch a glimpse of his teeth. "You're safe here - you can sleep as much as you want without worrying about any zombies."
Oh yeah, how could you have forgotten? You finally got into the safe zone - why couldn't you enjoy a bit of sleep, then?
His eyebrows furrowed a little, smile ceasing. "Although, I do find it concerning. You must've been out there for a long time, all alone?"
The way he phrased it and raised his voice at the end made the words half statement, half question when it came out if his mouth.
Shaking your head, you answered him. "No, I was with a group at the start, but we got separated. I was still able to learn something from them, though. And then I saw the flyers about the safe zone and so I just, I don't know, tried to find it." You shrugged your shoulders as if it was the most obvious thing.
Then, continued on with a sigh, "honestly, I probably wouldn't have survived and come here if I hadn't met the group back then and they hadn't taught me all the things I know now."
When you looked up at the boy, he was staring intently at you. As he saw you look back, he offered you another sparkling smile. "I'm glad you were able to get here, then."
Luckily, he didn't ask about what happened to the group - you yourself weren't certainly quite sure and even a single thought or a word said about them made you sad and angry about the world.
A couple seconds passed in silence before he suddenly clapped his hands together as if realizing something. "Right, my bad! I completely forgot to introduce myself to you - I'm Harry and I will be taking care of you while you're here."
Then, your stomach grumbled. How long was it since you've last eaten?
The young man, Harry, gasped in realization. "Of course, you must be hungry!" And with those words, be ushered out of the room and didn't come back until a while later, with a plate in his hands and a spoon sticking out of the contents inside.
As you began to attempt to get up again, he shook his head. "No, you rest," he said firmly, yet gently. "I'll feed you," he added.
He stepped closer and pulled a chair right next to the mattress, leaning above it to put a spoon of something into your mouth. It was porridge, still hot, a little sweet, but not as much as you'd like.
