Aimi starts sprinting the moment Midnight's voice fills her ears and pushes everyone back using her quirk.
"What should we be paying attention to in the early stages of the race", Mic's voice booms through the stadium, addressing her father.
"The doorway", he answers. Aimi's tempted to look back and see what the other students are doing to cause so much chaos, but she knows she'll regret it.
"This is the first obstacle. Apologies", Aimi hears coming from Todoroki, causing her to jump up into the air and push herself forwards using her quirk. The same moment, Todoroki freezes the ground over, causing some other students to be stuck.
Aimi goes forward, not looking back. When she hears her friends' voices, the girl can't help the grin spreading on her face, knowing that they avoided Todoroki's trap.
Although that smile disappears quickly once she approaches the robots from the entrance exam. The 0 pointers. Aimi knows that they won't be a problem for her, however she's a little worried for some of her classmates. Nevertheless, she knows they're strong and will be able to beat them.
Todoroki freezes them over and Aimi isn't stupid enough to go under them, noticing they're off balance.
"That's Todoroki from Class A pulling ahead to an early lead with a devastating display! He's one we should watch, it almost seems unfair! Any thoughts", Mic's remarks enthusiastically.
"His move was both offensive and defensive. No wonder he got in through recommendations", her father answers gruffly.
Aimi's tempted to simply fly over the robots, however they'd be able to hit her in the air. The girl is frustrated, knowing she'll have to use up a lot of her energy for the move she's going to have to do.
Aimi stops briefly, adjusting her feet on the ground and raising her arms. With all her possible power, she starts crumbling the head of one of the robots, causing it to malfunction and fall to the ground. With no time to spare, she activates her quirk once again, flying over the crushed robot and trying to not let the dizziness affect her.
"Aizawa Aimi from Class A just crushed that robot's head for an easy access to the air! A powerful move, since she does come after a pro-hero after all", Hizashi observes, the proud grin evident in his voice.
"Indeed. Although that must've taken up a lot of her energy", Aizawa answers, causing Aimi to roll her eyes. She's aware of that, he didn't have to say it aloud.
Aimi starts running again, head to head with Todoroki who doesn't spare a glance at her, focused on the way ahead. When they near a cliff, Aimi comes to a halt immediately and takes a few steps back, terrified of the depth of it. This causes Todoroki to send her a questioning look, noticing the terrified expression on her face. Yet he keeps on going, having to win this game, this festival.
"Of course they have to put a fucking cliff in this stupid obstacle course. Of course! Why not just simply push us down themselves", Aimi grumbles under her breath, annoyed and scared.
"You just gonna stand there witch? You wanna lose", Bakugo's voice calls out to her when he's passing her in a flash.
He's right. She's going to lose if she keeps this up. She has to move. She has to...get over this stupid hole in the ground.
Before moving forward, Aimi closes her eyes and lifts herself of the ground and moves forward without opening her eyes once.
"What's that? Is Aizawa...flying with closed eyes", Present Mic questions confused.
"She has acrophobia", answers her father, causing his daughter to groan again.
When Aimi does open her eyes, she notices that she's nearing the mine-field, as Mic told everyone over the speakers. There, Bakugo and Todoroki are going at each other, head-to-head, while others are trying to get around the mines.
Aimi, happy about this last obstacle, simply glides over the field, smiling at the people she passes. She's right behind the two boys when a massive explosion goes off behind her.
The blonde turns her head around, seeing only a massive cloud of pink dust. And a figure soaring through the air.
Not risking anything, she moves further to the side, away from the guys although still keeping up with their pace.
Suddenly, Midoryia starts falling down from the air, right in between the both of them. Aimi watches from the sidelines, observing the look on their faces. Midoriya obviously had no idea about how he was going to land, which is why she's shocked when he uses the two boys to push himself off.
"In a stunning move, Midoriya has blasted past his classmates from A! I don't believe it--he cleared that minefield in an instant", Mic cheers.
Impressed by Midoriya's move and slightly amused by the furious look on both of the guys' faces, a wide grin spreads on Aimi's face. The four of them are now sprinting for the finish line, although Aimi does not care whether she wins or not. If anything, she does not want to be the first to enter.
Which is why she slumps to the ground in relief when Midoriya's named the winner and she came in fourth. Panting for breath, she looks over to Midoriya who's wiping the tears from his eyes. When she stands up to go over and congratulate him, a wave of nausea passes over her and she stumbles to the side, her vision going dark for a second.
"Are you alright", Todoroki's voice inquires from beside her, a hand holding her upper arm to stabilize her. She looks up at him through a blurry vision, before nodding.
"Yeah. Just a little nauseous. It's one of my side effects", she answers honestly.
Todoroki nods at her while still not letting go of her arm, unsure if he can let go now or if she's going to fall if he does.
"I'm fine. You can let go", Aimi tells him, noticing the unsure look on his scowling face. "You did good."
"I wasn't first place", he states before going away, leaving the confused girl alone.
